Medical school forced me to push my limits as a student and increase the amount of time I spent studying for my exams. I struggled during my first year to find a good study rhythm. In this video, I discuss the ways I was finally able to optimize my study routine and find success. This includes the things I did both before and after studying in addition to the things I did while I was actually studying.

Great minds clearly think alike. The point of doing practice questions while you are studying can never be overemphasized. Usually we forget that whatever book we read actually covers some aspect of the topic in question, and not all the necessary information. Practice questions teach us what information we don't know and how questions are actually phrased. Lastly quality of studying matters especially in med school where loads of information are given in a relatively short period of time.

Great video! Love your vids. Can you do a video explaining your Anki strategies and settings? Also how do you make memory palaces for many different topics? Once I exhaust places familiar to me, I have trouble thinking of new places to make my palace out of. Any tips?

Thanks so much! I'll consider making that Anki video one of these days. I mostly use pre-made decks and review like 100 cards a day. Nothing super special about my Anki system. Yeah, I had the same issue with running out of places. I did not put every bit of info I learned into a memory palace, which made it more manageable. I used my childhood house, friends houses growing up, every single school I attended, sports stadiums, places I have traveled as different places.
