Growing up I was completely unaware of devotional and study bibles, so a lot of scriptures(especially KJV) didn’t make sense to me. I felt like a Pharisee reciting scripture not knowing any context lol. Getting knowledge of the historical context of the books and the biblical “canon” helped me appreciate and understand what I was reading. Praise be to God for the biblical scholars who give us these resources. 🙏🏾😇

Oh that's wonderful that you persevered through! It was the same for me, once you start reading more help and getting used to the language, it helps you comprehend the KJV so much better! Thanks for your comment!

I love the simplicity. You inspired me. I moved from complicated to simple. I'm now using a 3 color system which has helped me to actually see His heart more

You hit the nail on the head re commentaries. To no fault of any author, there will never be a non biased commentary, and it's good to see you making that point, and that it's a secondary source. Keep up the good work - always encouraging to see people share their enthusiasm in studying His word, and sharing their methods.

Thank you for this video! Having watched several videos on Bible highlighting over the years, I always thought I needed a complex color-coding system for Bible study. Your system has encouraged me to simplify my Bible study technique into one color for highlighting and a pencil for note taking. The more simple approach has truly enriched my personal time with the Lord! Thanks again!

Ah thank you so much, that's so kind of you to say, glory to God! Sure, I can share the overview of my testimony for you: I was raised Christian and have believed Jesus died for me my whole life (although I didn't know anyone who had actually read the Bible and I didn't have a personal relationship with Him either). I started my relationship with Him 13 years ago when I was actually born again: I was going through a terrible time and Jesus turned up and filled me with the greatest peace I had ever known 🥹 Then for the next 12 years, I loved Him but I was still quite lukewarm and didn't spend enough time with Him (it even took me 10 years to finish reading the Bible 😬). But then 2021 hit; He opened my eyes to the truths I had been blind to about this world, and I had the greatest craving to be close to Him and put Him first. So I started studying His Word in detail and everything changed; I've never been the same since! It was that summer I started my Instagram and this channel a few months later, mainly out of a craving to share His Word and find like-minded people who are studying the Bible and love Jesus. I have a world bible school study edition journaling bible can I write in it and take notes without a notebook or a journal love watching you're videos lot keep up with the awesome videos it makes me feel comfortable with God

May I ask where you found that commentary? I love the white marble cover, but all the commentaries I’ve found have ugly brown covers. I’m wondering if you covered the book yourself and made it pretty.😊

Hi, I am really debating whether to get a study bible, to get a bible and a commentary or to just use an online commentary. I'm also unsure if a study bible is just a commentary and the bible mixed together or just the bible with a few notes and explanations with cultural references. Like you, I get easily overwhelmed with many different colours, sections and resources - I like simplicity so I can process. I hope you can share some advice. Thank you and God bless.

Ah yes, I know what you mean about keeping it simple! Firstly I would say get a physical commentary if you are able, and what I do is supplement with an online one when I need to go deeper on a topic, or if I want to read a different interpretation of something. I do my main studying with just a Bible and a commentary, however I bought the study Bible for a different type of study, which was going through the Bible chronologically. It's definitely too much for me to use all the tools for one study at a time 🫠 So choose your study focus first and that will help you select the best tool for you. And yes, a study Bible has both the Word and commentary in it, and I found the cultural references are really good in the one I showed too. I hope that has helped shed some light for you!
