Assalamualaikum wr wb, in today's video I am sharing about how i told my parents I am converting to become a Muslim. Before I converted to Islam, this question "Will my parents accept me as a muslim" has always been in my mind. Hopefully this video will be able to help some people, as I explain how I told my parents from my perspective.

Thank you for sharing. There is no right or wrong way to have "the talk". As long as you are patient, respectful, and honest everything will work out in the end. I just advise everybody not to rush and to have that discussion when you're ready. That advice is true for most difficult discussions you'll have in life whether you're the parent or the child. May Allah swta make it easy for all of us. Ameen.

As Salam.. I totally agreed with you that giving hints is the perfect and correct way to unload your secrets. But somehow I see some people converting because they need to marry a Muslim girl/man which lead them to unhealthy life later on. But you did a good job by learning as much as you can.. to fullfill your curiosity towards this religion. And yes many people misunderstand thinking that whenever someone converting.. it’s mean they will change their race! 😂 that’s really funny.. anyhow please learn more.. because you will be the captain of your family.. and your future wife and your future children is depending on you.. And keep in your doa that one day your parents will be one of us as well.. I’m sure you have wishes that you want to see them in jannah too. May Allah give you guidance throughout your journey... I told my parents I was Muslim, and they lashed out at me, and threatened to send me to a mental facility, they think I'm brain washed and I'm going to be some sort of terrorist soldier. My mom said she would rather that I be a horrible person than a good person and a Muslim. I dont know what to do but I think my family will never look at me the same, in 16 and I can't move out in anyway

Be a better person and a good son to your parents. They will notice the good change in you and will then slowly but surely accept your decision. You are right , parents only wanted what they think is best for you. Islam teaches us to respect and be kind to our mum and dad. Be sincere in your faith and Allah swt will pave the way for you. sometimes, parents/ family only know their own religion/ way of thinking - it is what they view as 'normal' while other things are 'outside the norm', it is the comfort zone, it is what they are used to and what is accepted (as it is the norm) with the family or relatives.

I want to convert to Islam but my dad is very atheist and I’m worried what my mum will think, I don’t think I could tell my dad but if I have to as I have to go to his house every weekend and he would definitely see me pray or notice that I would be fasting or rejecting certain foods.
