How I Travelled Without Money For 5 Days In Parvati Valley (India)

This short documentary depicts the 5 days that I spent with no money in villages within Parvati Valley, Himachal, India. During this period, I did not use any cash: rather I camped in my own tent, cooked my own food, and relied on the generosity of others.
The aim of this experiment was to show that it's possible to travel with little money. It also highlights the humanity of people living in the mountains in India, as opposed to the morbid picture painted by the media of how women are treated here.

No big deal my dad kicked me out and I stayed out for almost a month few days in Delhi uttrakhand and finally ended up in himachal with a nasty hangover and by the last week of my conquest I finally broke down and somehow manage to get up on a fci truck that dropped me in Chandigarh from there I reached Delhi by train without a ticket ...that wasn't so bad

Wow.... loved this video. few tips to the Traveller with due apologies to the lovely traveller. 1) Never, ever believe that mountain dogs 'are friendly'....... those dos are what i call tourist friendly dogs fed and spoilt by many spoilt touristy tourists. (spoilt' word has nothing to do with compliments or appreciation) 2) Those 'nomads' are Gujjar tribes.......... their dogs are one of the most ferocious shepherd dogs in the world. 3) While sleeping in the tent, and all alone, lit a small fire nearby on cleared earth before sleeping. 4) Do not go to Nandadevi, as some nut case has suggested. It is a biosphere and protected zone. 5) I am sure you did the trip without money, but you surely have deeper pockets. 6) You prove, that it is a free world, and India is a nice place. 7) True Adventure is for the spirited, but Chronic adventurism need precaution more than caution.

The cab from Bhuntar to Kasol takes almost 200 per person, from Kasol to Barshaini 200 and Barshaini to Tosh 50 per person, you can't dig up your tent anywhere in mountains not at least in a flat private land, crux is no money is a hoax, I didn't talk about food and stay and the stash yet.

This is a daring attempt! It must have been an amazing adventure. While you have proved your point, I also think it's critical for all of us to understand that most of these generous people are actually poor. While they are willing to provide for free, they have a price to pay. It is indeed a good and exciting experiment. However, my personal suggestion is that we don't practise it. It is always better to pay them if we can afford it.

Oh actually, I didn't live with locals. I stayed with people of my own age mostly, who were from outside. And I helped them out and cooked my own food. So no, I didn't take anything from the locals.
