Hey man. I need to warn you about something. I'm an audio engineer and I'm listening at my studio. Your microphone is picking up copious amounts of high frequency noise from the machines. You should absolutely have ear plugs in, as at this volume, this sort of frequency easily destroys your ears irreversibly. Please take care. Please wear ear plugs. Even the cheap foam ones from 3M are perfectly fine for HF reduction.

Yeah, i played this on my phone and the high frequency SCREECH while you were talking (not during the machining portion) was awful, had to dampen the speaker with my thumb to finish the video. If you could have your video editor do either a "low pass" filter to cut out the screeching or do a noise cancellation (or both) based on one or two clips of the shop when you aren't speaking. Love the use of 2 surfaces, smoothed for pathing, full res used for "collision avoidance". Fantastic, very useful trick.

Even on the playback it can be bad, is the digital filter to fix this? Its a problem on all machining videos. Wood working often worse than metal working.

The pitch even through my scrappy tablet speaker is killing my ears. I had to watch and not listen. But I too am an audio engineer and I'm working with frequencies and electrical generation. I was testing some super high pitch frequencies and thought my device wasn't working (had it set wrong, high when it was supposed to be low) so I put my ear up to the speaker and held it there for a good bit. Even though 8 didn't physically hear any tone, when I pulled my ear away, my ear drum was pulsing and it made me feel weird AF and like my ear was wet. Don't know if that makes sense but yeah it was crazy. After about 30 min my hearing went back to normal. What's crazy is I could tell it was a saw wave as the pulses matched my output frequency. Also I'm looking for sound engineers to help me with some binaural beats. They are not for human consumption but for machines. If you read this and are curious hit this comment up.

Machining has come a long way from the days of a standard metal lathe. This is absolutely amazing that you can carve/machine this out of titanium. I thought the eagle head was impressive. This blows that out of the water.

Thinking back to even the early 2000’s, the fact that this is even possible is just inspiring! I’m so glad I got in this trade when I did! We just got a 3d printer here at the shop to compliment the DEM4000 and man I’m not going to lie it’s hard doing everything sometimes but I love figuring all of this stuff out and it helps to have such an amazing community that you all have helped make to help learn and grow!

A lot different from finish cutting a mould and just stepping over . 010 and cutting across on two axis. Y and Z or X and Z will 1/2" ball nose endmill. Then we'd finish on multiple axis with the smaller ball nose endmill's. But it would just be for fine features. Very cool 😎

How have the tools evolved over the years? IE New materials allow for smaller machine components. Lets say we discover some crazy metals that allow tools to be almost thread like thin except for the cutting head. That could be tiny as well but require more passes to cut a part. Will they go smaller or is that a case diminishing returns at some point. Imagine a tool head that can flex in any direction yet keep the cuts dead on.... Do you see future 3D printers putting an end to the CNC era?

Can you have whoever mixes your audio's hearing checked? That high-pitch background noise should have been removable with a noise gate or some other filter, and the only reason they didn't address it that I can imagine is they legit can't hear a sound that high pitch. :( Awesome knowledge besides that.

This is a mesh model, and is being worked as a mesh in Mastercam. For 2022, Mastercam added a full suite of mesh editing tools that really put some powerful options in the hands of users! There are actually some scenarios where I'm finding that for organic shapes, I turn my surfaces into meshes and work with the mesh to edit and machine parts! Definitely flipping the thinking on some of the traditional workflows.
