Today I want to share my personal journey from trichologist to doctor of functional medicine. As a trichologist, I was focused on treating hair and scalp problems, but I quickly realized that hair and scalp health was just one piece of the puzzle.
I wanted to help my clients achieve total wellness, not just hair health. That's when I discovered functional medicine - a holistic approach to health that looks at the whole person, not just their symptoms.
In this video, I'll share my journey to becoming a doctor of functional medicine, the challenges I faced, and the lessons I learned. I'll explain how my experience as a trichologist informs my approach to functional medicine and why I'm passionate about this field.

Hi Dr.Nina, I came across your video in search of more information on Trichologist with Naturopathic credentials. I am currently a licensed Cosmetologist and in the process of finishing up my trichology training, I also hold a bachelor’s in psychology.I am in search of a good Naturopathic phd program are you able to recommend the school you went to and or other naturopathic programs?

Hi Dr. Nina, I’m a master cosmetologist. I specialize in short hair and a certified hair loss specialist… Lately I’ve been seeing women with scalp issues along with thinning and I always suggest for them to get blood work done. Im really interested in trichology now, is there a institution that you would recommend. Thank you in advance for responding!

Thank you. Currently I'm going to a well known African American Dermatologist, Dr. Amy McMichael but unfortunately she is 3 1/2 hours away and I'm not super impressed with the treatment. She just has me on topical steroids called clobetasol and OTC shampoo and conditioner. That's it. I have been diagnosed with CCCA and honestly the reason my hair is growing is because of my change of diet. What us your virtual process. I rather at least see you in person initially.
