So I have the new airlift 3P/3H manifold that has the pressure sensor inside it. A second harness with the relays attached that leads to two (30 amp) fuses for the dual 444C compressors. May switch to 40 fuses. All of which is basically the airlift manufacturer plug and play version of what you just did manually. That just goes to show that you know EXACTLY what the hell you're doing, and this video is gold for anyone who doesn't have a setup pre-designed for plug and play. Hell, it's gold for me, too, because I have a better understanding now of how it works, and I'm going out to get a circuit breaker today because it's the one thing I have missing. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with a video, I wish I could like it more than once.

@@LTscustomgarage well deserved, Sir. I've had air suspension for going on 3 years, but it's time I redo my trunk setup. Those bundles of cables intimidated me a little, so I looked up a few videos to jog my memory. This is the best one I've come across and seeing as how it's identical to my setup on my daily, and I've had no problems, I'd say the most reliable. Your video simplified everything, and a few light bulbs went off in my head "oh so that's what that's for," lol. It's all fun until something goes bad and you have no idea how to fix or service it. This knowledge will help me diagnose and/or replace components should I run into any electrical issues in the future.

I can't tell you how much it helped me on my '55 Buick Super hardtop ! This will be the first time doing air ride system. I had an accident in 2007 and had brain surgery ! I have to read things two or twenty times to get it right. Your example was super helpful and very professional ! I have subscribed to you channel....will send some photos as I go forward, Thanks

@@LTscustomgarage i know a guy that loomed up the wires for his discman and tape adapter back in the day. So if you were rockin' out to beatnuts or krs1 and things got out of control, those wires were protected ,:)

❤❤❤ I love your quality of work kind of reminds me of me myself of what I do I have a 2022 Nissan frontier crew cab pick up truck with a set of Hadley air horns in the grill and I have four of those compressors in the toolbox of my pick up truck I would love to be able to send you a picture of my system that I personally custom built I have two gauges in the cab of my truck that monitor the air pressure that’s in the tank and it also has a second needle on the air pressure gauge that monitors the amount of pressure that’s been released to the air Horns. ❤❤❤

❤❤❤ maybe one day I’ll be able to show everybody my air compressor system that’s in the toolbox of the bed of my 2020 to pick up truck ❤❤❤ I spent a lot of time at a lot of money just so I have impressive extremely loud airhorns for my pick up truck. I actually have six compressors, but only room for 4 of them in my toolbox in the bed of my pick up truck. ❤❤❤

i did my first install of a air suspension system by myself back in 2017 and yesterday i started up my car and the pump didnt power up to fill the tank. being able to visually see how you connected everything helps me diagnose whats wrong with mines. after seeing this, i need to check my pressure sensor.. thanks for this

@@LTscustomgarage turns out it was a power wire after the main fuse off the battery.. very simple, but i only realized it after swapping my compressor, relay, and pressure switch lol

Very clean set up. Thanks for the video! One thing I might suggest that I see other people do, is to provide affiliate links or parts lists in the description box. I went through and googled the Tesa tape that I had never heard of (thanks) and threw other parts in my shopping cart as you went through the video, but links can be helpful to us trying to replicate something you are doing (exact gages, brands, amps, etc) and I think you get pennies here and there when we buy something through Amazon or whereever through your link or influencer page/account is what they call it. Just a suggestion, but by no means a critique. Thanks!

Great, great video. What amp # fuse breaker should I use? if Im running double VAIR 444 compressors.

They can draw 30 amps each, so you can run a single 4 Guage from the battery protected by at least 60 amps, then distribute to each and fuse them at 30 amps, or run a pair of 8 gauge wires to the battery with a 30 amp fuse on each. Awesome information I have a 2005 mustang gt that has Airlift performance V2 system, my question is What's best way to wire it to where I have a separate on/off toggle switch to keep air compressors off at firt cranking car so to not drain the battery while compressors are filling air tank? I would like to integrate what you did to my V2 system. any info you can give me would be highly appreciated. again thank you in advance for if nothing else this very important video...

Not 100% sure, dont have a lot of experience with that, but from what I remember about that system, there's a gray 20 gauge compressor relay output wire. You can interrupt that with a switch before the relay.

🍺🍺 I wish I could send you a picture of what put together by myself for my air compressor system 4 VIAIR compressors that operate just my air horns. It takes a very short period of time and I mean a very short period of time to pump up the air pressure in my 2 1/2 gallon tank all the way up to 200 psi from zero I have pumped it all the way up to 250 psi I did not blow off any of the hoses. I really wish I could show you a picture of my system. Everybody would be blown away. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

🔥🔥🔥 I’ve got a lot of experience doing custom builds years ago I worked for Wellcraft, marine building, offshore, racing boats I built 3 38 foot scarabs, installing the engines and the electrical and the fuel system as well as generators in other boats but I built 3 38 foot scarabs for the Miami Vice TV show starring Don Johnson. You would be impressed with the air compressor system that I put together for my 2022 Nissan frontier pick up truck. Everything is in the toolbox in the bed. Nothing is underneath of the truck. 🔥🔥🔥🍺🍺

The pressure switch is just using ground connections ? One from the relay and one to the ground on the truck?

You can run either ground or 12v through a pressure switch. You can connect one side of the pressure switch to ground, and run the other to either pin 85 or 86 on a Bosch style relay, then 12v on whichever 85 or 86 that isn't connected to the pressure switch. OR 12v through the pressure switch and ground the other side of the relay. The relay just needs to see opposite polarities on pins 85 and 86 to work, 12v and ground

@@LTscustomgarage ok so the pressure switch is on /off for the compressors by completing the circuit . So when the pressure is low it signals turn on to complete the circuit and when the pressure is proper it kills the connection to the circuit .

Yup, say you have a 160 on 200 off pressure switch with ground on one terminal,, when you tank pressure is below 160 it'll close and send ground to your relay. And shut off at 200 psi

❤❤❤ my system works with those for air compressors for my airhorns. I know it sounds overkill, but it only takes seconds for me to get 200 psi for my airhorns. It’s kind of an insurance policy that wakes people up to get too close to my truck when I. ❤❤❤. I have one air pressure switch that turns on to compressors and then a second air pressure switch that turns on the second pair of air compressors. The reason I said it up this way if I only need to I can flick one switch on if I need rapid recovery and I hit the second switch I have for compressors charging by 2 1/2 gallon tank in the toolbox that’s in the bed of my truck. ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ if you’re familiar with the Miami Vice TV show with Don Johnson he ran around in a 38 foot Wellcraft scarab back in the day I worked for Wellcraft Marine and I install the engines and the electrical system on all three boats that were built for that TV show. ❤❤❤. I’m sure you would love the layout of my air compressor system that operates my airhorns. I know it’s overkill but it’s certainly wakes up the stupid people on the freeway when they come way too close to my new pick up truck. Usually they think an 18 wheeler is getting ready to go up their ass if they don’t get back in their own lane.❤❤❤.

I have two compressors , can I run one big 2 gauge wire from batt to trunk and use a distribution block to run power to amplifiers and the compressors? or is it best to run two separate power wires ? 1 for amps and 1 for compressors?

Technically, you can, but its probably better to separate them if you can. I'd be more concerned about your ground. You can end up with lots of noise issues with your stereo. Like popping through the speakers when hitting your switches or noise while your compressors are running.

@1Colburn 8 awg is good for one, I'd run at least 4 awg to a distribution point or 2 8 awg the whole way. It also depends on how far your run is from the power source. The further away the bigger your wire should be to prevent voltage loss

@1Colburn oh yeah, itll be fine, but they can draw up to 30 amps each. 60 amps through 17 feet of 8 awg is kind of a lot. So if I'd suggest if youre redoing it, to step it up a bit. Could be why your lights are dimming, or ground, or both.

Yup. The pressure switch just gives you a trigger for relays and can be used to trigger multiple relays

I couldn’t tell where the one ground that you put on the B-pillar was coming from for the relays. @JrRankingMusic basically, I run ground into the pressure switch, from there to pin 85 on the relay. 86 is 12volts from the rocker switch, pin 87 is 12 volts from the battery, and pin 30 is 12 volts out to The compressor and it has its own ground.

Why use both the circuit breaker and the fuses?

All the components wiring should be protected as close to the power source as possible, so the circuit breaker is near the battery and big enough for all the components at the same time. One larger wire can run back to a point where all the components can be fuse protected individually with their appropriate size fuse.

❤❤❤ HEY LT I would love to know if you have a website where I could send you a picture of my air compressor system that uses 4 ViAIR air compressors. I’ve pumped my system up to 250 psi just to do the extreme pressure test and none of my airlines broke loose. I left it at 200 psi for 20 minutes to make sure nothing came apart. Make it a great day just think about having 4 VIAIR compressors just for your airhorns yes, it’s over KILL but it wakes the dead and the stupid. ❤❤❤

@@LTscustomgarage you should see my air compressor system from my pick up truck I brought 6 VIAIR air compressors 4 of them are in the toolbox in the bed of my truck just for my airhorns. Yes I can connect the hose to it and blow up Tire, but I bought them to activate my air horns and they are extremely loud. And best way protect your vehicle is wake up the dead before they hit you.

You should probably watch the video again and actually pay attention. I run ground, sometimes 12v through a pressure switch and a toggle switch to my relays and it was mentioned more than once. I'm not sure what you mean by rounding from pumps, and btw they are NOT pumps, they are air compressors, pumps move fluid. Do you really think a pair of viairs would blow up a tank before tripping a circuit breaker, blowing a fuse or burning themselves out? Pretty cool you think you know what your talking about though, wish I knew you In the late 90s when I started doing this stuff, maybe I couldve learned from you and skipped the whole 25 years of experience I had when I made that video, I couldve been an expert right away. Btw if you're going to be a troll atleast try to know what you're talking about so you don't look like a complete fool.
