Akshaya Patra is a really good organisation. I live outside of India and hence cannot personally serve the needy in my country. My husband and I contribute to Akshay Patra every year on my father's death anniversary, for 6 kids' meal for a year. It makes us feel good. You can do it as a memorial, and you can even select the region you want to contribute to. God bless them.

You will not find that man much agitated even on his worst day. He/organization is a follower of Guru Srila Prabhupada famously known in the west for Hare Krishna (ISKCON) movement. It follows Bhaktivedanta philosophy meaning understanding consciousness through service. The reason that person will not be angry because he does not see that he is doing a great service by providing the meal to kids. He is seeing it as that he is put in charge of this to serve, so that he can understand the god/consciousness better. It is his opportunity to learn more by serving god in the form of kids, so he is eternally happy being there and for the opportunity , which is evident.

you could have just written that they are the 'hare rama hare krishna' people and that would have been much more easier for the foreigners to get that. More foreigners know of Prabhupada swami than indians do. ISKCON is basically an org preaching hinduism in the west.

I had Iskon food for 13 years of my life. The temple provided breakfast and lunch to the schools and I've been having the food since a child. The food is very nutritious. I still remember the van entering the school early in the morning and before noon to provide breakfast and lunch. They were never late. ❤️

Its not, hindus do it as a selfish act expecting a reward from god or in fear of him ,sikhs on the other hand see it as a responsibility ,religion is a curse to the society not god but religion , all religions are delusional but i can say that sikhism and buddhism seem to be least delusional , i was a hindu myself for15 years but then i became smart enough to understand things so i identify as an atheist rather a rationalist, agnostic people are also sensible and i understand their cause but religious people are just irrational

Eating with hands is a basic instinct for any humans. It actually connects your nerve ending and senses from the skin to understand what food is good for you or not. This is basically integrated in Indian culture. Also the VP from isckon is a monk so it's natural to see them radiating with smile and bliss

Those dosas is called davanagere benne dose (davanagere butter dosa) which is a specialty in a the city called davanagere, Karnataka in South India. Many hotels and restaurants serve it in other cities too, but best tasted in davanagere itself.

It's great that the host of that travel show is discovering some rare places and restaurants in the interiors of India..on the other hand it's sad that not many Indians are doing that, some of us are even clueless that such places exist..we are so busy working and earning and want to get out of India....I wish to some day go out and explore my homeland that I know so little about!

Indians actually prefer eating with hands. If u get past this feeling that u eating food with hands is gross etc u will actually enjoy eating food with hands. Its much more fun and comfy. No matter where I am living/eating I am always going to eat with my hands. PS: All Akshay Patra foods r vegetarian food cooked without onions and garlic.

Sonica A. Jay No Sonica not for that reason. It’s simply Dharma. Jaby doesn’t cook the food, feeds the children, goes to visit the place, takes the effort to film it. But he makes money from it. Even if he donates 1 cent of the earnings from that video to the organization he would fulfill his duty. That’s what I’m trying to tell.

Total Duration:- From 8 a.m. to 1:36 p.m. (Indian Standard Time) 🌕🌔🌓🌒🌑 For some people this information might seem to be random for this video but for me it's not random, it's related. This is a food related video and I'm getting hungry watching it but I'm not supposed to eat till the eclipse is over so yeah there you go, that's the connection. There is another video one hour long from national Geographic channel.. It gives you how the whole cooking process is from start to finish. Generally we consider the food to be prasad and told not to waste... That's why encouraged to take only so much that you can eat.

This organisation is isckon! The international society for Krishna concious!!! Every devote or a volunteer looks very peaceful and happy.. that’s why he has that beautiful and peaceful smile.. as a member and donating devotee to Akshaya patra.. it is just wonderful to see these kids having a meal so happily!!

They do Intermediate fasting as a part of Hindu ritual called Ekadashi. Ekadashi is the 11 th day of Hindu calender appears twice a month. This day is dedicated for fasting (mostly from grains).

One fact abt iscon, Steve jobs in one of his interview said he uses to walk for miles to eat a meal in iscon affiliated center during his younger days.
