Great analysis. However, the format that is under imminent threat rightaway is one day cricket (the 7-8 hours format). Test cricket still gets decent viewership, mostly because it has some context these days with the world test championship points on offer and people seeing it as the pinnacle of the sport. The future remains about T20 and test cricket, but not one day cricket.

As a Indian Cricket and Football fan, I love IPL's success. It creates a lot of jobs and money. But it makes me more disappointed that our football league ISL didn't succeed and it is even going down. If we want to make it to the world cup, we have to play top level football.

@@1.3billionpeopledreams18 except one, all other dutch cricket team players are foreign born, mostly in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. So it's easy to qualify if you just pick players from other countries. Most of these players played 9r even now playing their domestic cricket in those countries as well.
