@@Someone-sc2hk It doesn't matter, many parents choose to let technology raise their kids, and parents that do choose to raise their kids end up isolating them from others by doing so, it's an impossible dilemma with no correct answer, the problem is especially bad in America whereas I haven't noticed any strange behaviour where I live. There are reclusive people but I don't see those types, still plenty of kids doing what I did as a kid which is kind of reassuring, sounds to be much worse in the US though.
@Someone-sc2hk3 ай бұрын
@@OneBoredCatbug "parents that do choose to raise their kids end up isolating them" there's always an inbetween, as a parent you should always give your child the ability to do their own choices, as long as those choices don't harm them in the long run, hell you don't even have to shelter them from technology entirely, just limit the amount and the type of content that they can consume.

Being a 2000s kid (as in born during the late 90s) is a really unique thing to be honest. We grew up during the transition from VHS to DVD. Parents constantly wanted us to go outside & not have our faces glued to the tv, now you routinely find little kids looking at their parent's phones or their own. Cell Phones going from "a device that lets you call people & send text messages" to "a tiny computer that can do basically anything" Most importantly though, we grew during the rise of the Modern Interent. The rise of Social Media and everyone being connected. The transition from people giving you a weird look when you mentioned a website like "Twitter" to it being an everyday use. KZfaq used to be a small video sharing website instead of an actual business where tens of thousands of people can get paid money for uploading videos. Memes were just silly text on a photo or a funny video clip from a movie or show you liked. It truly is amazing how much the world has changed in just 20 years.

If I ever have kids, I'm just gonna restrict Internet access until they're at least 14 (that was the age that I got my first phone.) And I'd only allow the computer for games or whatever. Can't make future generations end up the way they are now. Then again, it probably won't work. I'm 19 and my humor is admittedly a bit broken. But hopefully it prevents them from being bad at a much younger age?
