Hua Hin is OK known it for years off & on. Its not wild or mad but more calm. Its a reasonable sized town served by good roads, shops,bars,resturants, plenty of hotels and beaches. Lots of choices for Farang seeking different resturants some food including English etc. Its not necessarily cheap. It was hit badly by the pandemic which led to some closures of business, Its not like really beautiful as some of the islands where students go on their big trips but its more family friendly with a long beach. It definately appeals to some who have retired to Thailand as it offers a mix of things and Europeans/Brits there are not isolated as they would be in remoter areas, there are lots of property types. Travel is easy with fast roads & a small bus service from BBK airport. With a car you can travel further down to Pran buri - nearby coast road with quiet beaches & others down towards Prachuap Khirikhan. Yes interesting generally peaceful - a great place for retirees wanting a longer stay in this varied Thai/Farang town

This is why I love Thailand. You've got space the people are friendly the weather is awesome and it's cheap. That new train station looks great I'm sure it would be 💯 more pleasurable on that thing than travelling on any train in the UK probably. 🍺 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🇹🇭👍

Generally OK I believe been many times never had an issue with WiFi. Go to market village shopping Mall - loads of sim places need passport. Always take out UK etc Sim and use Thai Sim

Some weekends gets busy - popular with Bangkok ppl too. All Thai public holidays jammed with heavy traffic as its a big travelling through town too , New Year very busy and Songran - mad but great!

Just spent 6 days in Hua Hin. Really considering it for retirement. It's a more chill and relaxed town, nice town and real estate is reasonably priced and good rentals. I am Pattaya now, and it is very wild.

yes have a good look around - loads of properties but do check out all over the town do your research as I know there's an oversupply of properties. Be cautious not rushing into it. Loads for sale

Went there genuinely expecting to find my place to settle down. But it struck me as being a kind of non de script and stretched out resort. It just screamed “God’s waiting room” At me, I know it’s everywhere in Thailand but the old blokes with young girls thing seemed to me to be really in your face in Hua Hin. More so than most cities in Thailand including Pattaya. Which really Suprised me. Within a week I was gone…

He's fairly close to how it should sound .....maybe your saying it incorrectly

@frog-eye1420 Think the "a" in Hua is more of an "er" sound though (as in "her"). Like the "a" in gluai (bananas) and guai-(diao) (rice noodles). But close, yes
