PA has teachers. They just left because you aren't supporting them.

I have degrees in high need areas: Mathematics(BS and MS, ABD for doctorate) and Physics(BS). I would teach in PA under 2 conditions: 1) No ghetto schools and 2) Waive the certification requirements for 2 years just to see if teaching is a good fit for me.

Maybe stop forcing teachers to go against their morals. Stop letting out of control, unparented children abuse adults without repercussions. Maybe get rid of the wokeness….in general. It’s gross and ruining society.

Agreed. They separate religion from the school conduct, but ironically allow indoctrinated ideologies that are as divisive affect the school conduct.

Being a future educator in 1 year, I think this shortage has to do with behavioral problems and the current culture war. Anything you say might be deemed as racist or homophobic/transphobic that teachers are not willing to risk losing their jobs over it.

The power has shifted towards the students and almost completely away from the teachers, and that is a problem. Also the general decline of morality and decency in society among students and teachers alike is a contributing factor.
