I bought a used GW2 (the model in the video) almost 2 years ago on ebay for 250 just to have a travel friendly guitar to lug around and practice, fortunately it was in pretty good condition. Turns out it was so good I've gigged with it as my back up, and it has indeed seen stage time, it has saved my ass when my main guitar, which is floyd equipped Jackson DK2, popped a B string in the middle of a set . The playability on it is scary, I mean it feels crazy comfortable, and the 5 piece roasted maple/paduk neck is stable as hell and feels amazing. What really stood out to me are how usable the pickups are, I'm hard pressed to upgrade them. When I got this guitar I was actually torn between getting this and the Harley Benton Duhallan, and I'm glad I got this. I do have a few qualms with the bridge, however I can deal with it.

I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of headless guitars, but I've heard that they're very comfortable, ergonomic, the playability is great (they're usually more expensive), but I could definitely consider trying one of these. EDIT: I forgot to write that those pretty sounds that accompanied the product shots are very pretty indeed!

What was the weight like, also light like Ibanez/Stranberg? Ive heard 7/8lbs, which for my uses, defeats the point a bit. Will be looking at the GW2Pro model, hopefully the bridge on that is better

I bought a headless guitar from China called a Cardinal by Lattitude. It looks identical to the one in this video except no burl top. Mine is an ash body but the neck is the same. Probably the same company is making them. I love the neck and the rounded end stainless frets. The only problem was the bridge. I use an .007 as my first “e” string on all my guitars. The same problem turning the tuner and you were right. With in one week, I had lost that little tuning lever. Even worse the tuner mechanism would not lock onto the .007 string. It kept slipping out of the tuner. I replaced it with a better brand and fixed that issue. The next problem was I did not like the noisy pick-ups, so I replaced them with a set of Fishman classics, but had to route out a cavity for the battery and fit on a battery compartment cover over that. So I’ve now spent more on it than the original $350 cost but it now plays and sounds amazing. I probably should have just bought a Strandberg. Oh well, live and learn. By the way, I have a camera that also seems to show my stomach in an unflattering light. I may write and complain to the manufacturer about that. Ha!

Man I've been debating getting one of these ever since I first saw them years ago. I think it was from a Phil McKnight video. It just seems so perfect for a travel guitar. One of these and like a Boss Katana go, or an HX stomp and I'd be good to go no matter where I am with some headphones.

Great review. I have this guitar. It is amazing. There is no better guitar for sitting back in a comfortable chair and drilling technique exercises with those cutaways. Guitars like this really show up the big boys for what can be done for the money. I wish it had a coil split, and I would prefer this exact body with a headstock and hipshot bridge. But otherwise it's pretty much all I play.

i have one in black ('grey') and i love it, so much so i spent more money upgrading it than what it costs, put in a set of black winter pups, copper shielding, tbx and coil split circuit. i use 2.5mm acrylic picks so i can tune it as well without the 'wrench' thing (didnt loose it yet). Edit. Also if strandberg need to charge you 1.2k for the most basic model...i dont know who is ripping off who.

I really like the headless guitars. My biggest issue with Strandberg and these are the tail-end of the guitar. Not only do they not work well hanging from the non-existing headstock, but the tail-end makes it not sit on the floor leaning against something or work well with guitar stands. (And, sure, there are workarounds, but I just want to be able to lean it up against the side of the sofa the way I can with my Steinberger.) They need to calm down with the design of the tail-end. 😄

I had one and used it exactly to see if I would like headless guitar before switching to an expensive Strandberg, which I did actually. This eart guitar is a great deal, obviously it is heavy and not as ergonomic as Strandberg, but it does the job and for the first headless there's no a better guitar out there. This is THE guitar to get into headless world. I would actually leave it for travelling to less care about the guitar, if not two things - the frets are too small (low) as I am used to a higher ones, so there's always was a concern with bends and overall comfort. And also, I didn't like the bridge actually, it was holding tuning and intonation just fine, but I kind of never got used to that feeling of sharpness as I would rest my palm where the tuning knobs are and it was not comfortable. Good thing though, that they are tight as even resting my palm pretty much all the time would not turn that out of tuning. Funny things, that Strandberg's bridge is also a sharp one to rest on, but it is in a better place and I somehow got used to it now. Anyway, GW2 is a great headless for the money and if you're in doubt whether to get into headless world ot not, it is an absolute no brainer - get one of these! Also, I bought mine used and sold after 4 months for the same price, so they do hold up in value. Also buying from a real person you might get a better quality check than the one they do at the factory LOL so there's an advantage, at least it was for me, as I got completely setup instrument ready to play. Great review of the great product. I'm glad you did it as when I was buying mine I did not find a review I would trust, so it was still kind of a risk to get a shitty over promoted guitar, which was not the case, but still - having a trusted honest reviewer like you would help a ton and WILL help a ton for all those who are looking into buying these. I am just a bedroom guitar player, not paid, do not have any channels, no music released, have nothing to promote. I just really liked my GW2 and I'm grateful for it, cause otherwise I would probably never would've tried a headless guitar and would've never ended up in a Strandberg world.

I’ve played been playing my HP-42 Signature TT Roasted everyday since I got it 18 months ago. The frets are now super smooth the back of the neck shines like gloss. It plays like a dream holds its tune wow what a great guitar. So yesterday I ordered another one along with 3 more Harley Benton instruments. To play Rolling Stones Harley Benton TE-53KR BL Tribute Series, this will have the fat 6th string removed just like Keith Richards does. Harley Benton HBMA-50E Mandoline VS, so I can play Led Zeppelin songs with the mandoline. Harley Benton PB-Shorty BK Standard Series this was going to be a Squire Bronco like the band Dea Matrona have used but since I was going to get everything from Thomann, I figured I would give their shorty a try. Also I’m old and having problems standing and playing so I bought another item only found at Thomann Richter Matt Heafy Double Strap B, and Millenium GSP-1000 Acoustic guitar walk up and play stand. Since I’m now ready to get a band going I also got a case for absolute favorite guitar Rockcase RC ABS 10406 BSH, so I can carry my Henning Pauly Signature guitar to band practice. My purchases from Thomann are all thanks to you and your videos Henning Pauly. I did forget to use your link on this purchase, sorry about that but I got a little excited. I’m now waiting for the goods to arrive here in New York from Germany. Very exciting time👍. Your a great inspiration to players everywhere.

Bought a couple of very similar guitars by NK a few years ago. Both have this bridge design and to be honest I have never had a problem with, indeed they stay in tune well. They are good modding platforms too if you want to upgrade the pups and pots, but in all honesty they were fine. Finally, the NK had a nicer body shape, which is more compact than the Eart. Good bang for your buck.

I've been keeping my eye on those for some time already (not so much for their "headlessness", but for "buttlessness"). I've seen multiple people complaining that the bridge tends to break easily (tuning parts), which is probably not surprising as it's a budget one and is probably made from some cheaper metal. On the bright side, there are inexpensive replacements available (on Ali, Banggood etc), so spare parts are not a big problem, at least for now. HB was also teasing a new Dullahan, but sadly there are no news since last year so mb they've scrapped the project :(.

I bought the natural W1 for 321$ in 2020. It is fantastic. I actually like the pickups as well which is rare. They have a smooth traditional sound. Definitely not high gain. I use mine as a recording desk guitar mostly and it has rock solid tuning stability. Mine is an even more blatant ripoff of a Strandburg. It was before EART had to change the shape. BUT, I am glad they didn't emulate the progressive radius neck or fanned frets. Never had an issue with the bridge and muting was never a thing for me. I am constantly turning the volume down on accident though. Probably my only gripe. I have bass player hands though. I would say I play this guitar the most out of all my guitars because it is always sitting out and it was inexpensive so I am not worried about it. Most of my other guitars sit in their cases in storage mode waiting to be played at a show or used on a recording. I would absolutely recommend this headless to other budget minded people. I noticed that the prices went up considerably in the past few years. I also love my NK 7 string if you get a chance to play one of those.

My next bigger purchase was supposed to be a Strandberg. Partially because of the neck. But this really gets me thinking if I have to spend 2500+ Euro. I prefer the Sälen with Humbuckers, so that's the most 'affordable' one. Of course 1200 for a Boden Essential is an option just because of the price difference and now after I've seen this video the EART (pronounced E-Art afaik because the company is called Electroacoustic Art) is another option. I remember when the first EART hype about 2 years ago was taking place I got myself a ES-335 copy and I absolutely hated the neck. About copying body shapes: well I think the most usable body shapes for guitars are invented by now and everyone is stealing from everyone when there are really great ideas. Someone came up with a belly cut sometime, now everyone is using it. Nearly every guitar company has their take on a Strat, Tele and Les Paul. I find it hard to criticise a guitar company for stealing body shapes or superior electronic placements.

Eart does insane guitars for the price, but the only problem for me is that the neck profile a little bit strange, it starts out like a nice C on top, and then beefs up to a somewhat chunky D shape closer to the 12 fret, which is probably gonna be fine for a lot of people, but I just prefer having less shoulder on higher frets area

I have been interested in this guitar for some time. Why doesn´t Eart have a dealer who sells to the Europeans through Amazon? Who wants to order a guitar fron China or the US and risk the problem of having to send it back to a dealer who is slow or not responsive at all? OPen an European outlet!!!!!

Hey Henning, thanks for the review. One thing I've noticed when watching your videos is that you seem to always mention something about being paid to do reviews. I think the world knows that popular KZfaqrs are often paid to feature products. Have you ever considered not mentioning it? Maybe the time has come.

I have to mention it, it’s the law. It’s also right to mention it in the spirit of transparency. I don’t mind. Whoever has a problem with me being paid to do my job can turn the video off.

Maybe ask them to send the Pro version to see if the Bridge upgrade justifies the higher price ?

Nice guitar , indeed very nice guitar , but love to see you change a set of strings and tune up , logistics are important if you break a string / need to restring 😊👍

EART as a brand has disappeared from my radar because they may be good in making well reviewed guitars, but when I went to buy their 335-model I only kept finding empty warehouses on their site. There's a few very promoted brands that are almost always 'currently not available' in Europe.

What a difference with my own experience! Mine (which was gw2 pro) was an utter desaster. Intonation all over the place, can’t stay in tune more than a minute, dead notes, pickups inept, felt cheap… To be fair the neck was nice but not enough to keep such joke. Strange.
