I subbed for the technical explanation of the screen scroll glitch. :D One of the things that has gotten me to stick around in speedrunning (spectating) is the technical aspect of what these runners are doing and how they have dissected the games. So thanks for helping to explain these crazy techniques!. :D

Exactly! There's two things needed for level 9 1 - all eight triforce pieces to "skip the old man" in the beginning 2 - any sword to beat Ganon (plus the bow + silver arrow) This is why you can't beat Ganon in the swordless speedrun.

It's as if at the end of every level, a bus arrives every 21 frames to bring you to the next level. Even if you miss the bus by just one frame, you would still have to wait 20 frames to catch the next bus. Sometimes though, you'll arrive just before a bus does, and you'll hardly have to wait at all. Of course, this doesn't apply to the last level, since timing stops immediately once you touch the axe at the end.

"part of it"? Literally could not have been done without you. :) congrats Edit: did you have to attempt a single screen wrap more than once? If so, I missed it. That was gorgeous. Also, do you do this with a teammate keeping track of the bomb and fairy counters? Is that who you high five at the end? If so, the idea of team speed running makes this seem so much like formula 1. Very impressive!

Think about this, the record was achieved on October 18th, this video was released on December 18th, so at the very most, writing, recording, and editing this whole documentary, not even talking about creating all these graphics and scoring the thing, was achieved in two months. That is some absurd speed to turn around anything in, especially something of this quality. Beyond amazing work from Bismuth as usual.

There isn't _really_ an Anti-Link, and there aren't _really_ any Judges in that one level in Super Mario Bros, and the parallel universes trick doesn't involve _real_ parallel universes. I think given some time the Mario 64 ABC series will go down as one of the best series of analytical content about anything on KZfaq. You are wonderful and it is genuinely shocking to me that you don’t have millions of subs. Keep working on what you love forever please.

The part at 38:32 was really good and something I think would be great to have more of. You explained how one tiny, seemingly insignificant mistake led to several other timelosses which added up to 3 seconds lost. It really shows how quickly things can go wrong and how easy it is to lose time. It was also great how Lack seemed to realize, in his head, all the small consequences pretty much immediately and how to adjust for them. Love the videos mr banana man
