The vertical and horizontal arrangement of the yarn is warp and weft,the spindle shaped device that is used to carry the thread is the Shuttle. Am so humbled to see this video,been working with weavers for the past 5years,been producing sarees which are manually handwoven and handspun.

A fitting video for 75 years of independence. It's this cotton and khadhi that was the corner stone of swadeshi movement. Happy Independence day. Please show more videos on indigenous vegetables, millets and herbs. Especially all types of millets. They are healthy but cost about Rs. 70+ for half a kilo. The more farmers produce, people and farmers both will benefit financially and health wise.
