How Jenkins, Kentucky Got Its Name
How did a coal company, a railroad, a banker, a school teacher, and a future Senator come together to form a little town in the Appalachian Mountains? Close to bankruptcy before even the first shovel of coal was taken out of the mountains, Consolidated Coal Company had a huge problem. That problem was how to get coal from the mine to the places that needed it. In today's video, we will discuss how that problem was solved and how one of the problem solvers got the little town named after him.
