How Kenya Is Becoming the World’s Geothermal Powerhouse

Жыл бұрынKenya has an ambitious goal of getting 100% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030 as part of its commitment to tackling climate change.
Currently, geothermal accounts for 39% of total energy production in the country.
But the government wants it to be its main source in the next seven years. Can it achieve the target?

Solar might be a cheeper route but Geothermal can be ramped up. Getting rid of Fossil imports will release a lot of funds for Green investment!

Geothermal energy has a very high initial cost, but over time it proves to be the cheapest, the first geothermal power plant in the world is still in operation, solar panels only last 25 years. Geothermal energy, if well managed, lasts for centuries.
