The Koala's name is "Yookie" and he is a professional gamer.
Pokemon Competitive Singles has been turned on it's head with the release of the "Indigo Disk" DLC. The once overlooked Komala has had surprising success on an all new team for it's unique ability to reliably answer Status + Hex Dragapult. Beyond this Komala also provides the valuable utility of Knock Off, Rapid Spin and Wish.
The player Tio Chico has seen potential in these unique tools and used Komala all the way up to #9 on the Gen 9 OU Ladder.

Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on KZfaq. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

⁠@@et34t34fdf Comatose causes the Pokémon to behave as if it were asleep, though it doesn't officially have the Sleep status condition. It can still use its regular moves, but cannot be inflicted with any major status condition (sleep, poison, paralysis, burn, or freeze).

Did you know that if you put a grass type Pokémon in front of Komala, it will not recognize it as a grass type? That is because it only ever encounters grass types in trees in the wild. You have to put a grass type in a tree before Komala's Ice Spinner can hit it super effectively. Just like real Koalas.

Pokemon whose Australian-ness should be investigated: Spiders, as another commentor has noted. Dodrio, since its design has similarities with cassowaries. Marowak, for its signature move Bonemerang. Magby, since it's based off of birds and sounds like magpie.

this sounds like the Gen 1 Porygon situation where it's really good against One Set on One Good Pokemon and then kind of does whatever to the rest of the tier but still helps then that one good pokemon does something other than that one set and you are now playing 5 against 6

People rag on stall all the time which makes sense, it’s often frustrating to play against, but wanting a tier to have more creative options and hating stall are incongruous viewpoints imo because stall is the playstyle that finds the most use for overlooked, seemingly weak pokemon that happen to have one or two extremely crucial traits for he metagame.

The best gimmick of comatose is not its sleep but the fact that komala is asleep. The thing we THINK that attacks. But how come doesnt change colours but his stump does. Its another mimicing pokemon

We have a platypus pokemon hidden inside the Duck Division: Golduck. It has no wings, but claws instead. Doesn't seem to have feathers, does not fly, and above all: *it is in the Field Egg Group instead of Flying Egg Group where most birds resite*

Komala is another example of how moves are the most important thing to a pokemon's viability. Makes me feel sad about Floatzel. While it is technically better now thanks to Wave Crash, losing Seitcheroo completely gutted it's Water Veil sets, losing a lot of skill expression. Also when a pokemon becomes viable due to one set, it often props up it's other sets as the simple act of your opponent not know what moves you're running props the "less optimal" sets with surprise factor.
