BRANDMADE.TV shows you how the iconic LE CREUSET cookware / bakeware is made
.
Le Creuset is made by hand at their factory in Fresnoy-le-Grand France.
From 1935 to 1945, Le Creuset began to develop its product ranges: cookers, charcoal stoves, hot plates for electric cookers, and kitchen utensils… as well as a commercial strategy. After the 2nd World War Le Creuset concentrated on its range of enamelled cast iron cookware and was a major innovator at the time with new and exciting styles and pieces. More than 50 years later, Le Creuset Cookware/Bakeware has become a fixture in kitchens all around the world.

Nice find! I have some plain cast iron cookware from the late 1800s through the 2000s, inherited from my grandmother, from my mother, and bought new, but all my Le Creuset was bought new after 2018. I've looked at garage sales, flea markets, Goodwill, Salvation Army... but to no avail.

I've had several Le Crueset pieces for over a decade. Even after constant use and occasional abuse, they look like new. I'd call this the Rolls Royce or Rolex of cookware, but that doesn't do it justice.

@@tolga1cool well America’s test kitchen did a real thorough testing of enameled cast iron pots and pans. And although there were great offerings from cuisinart, nothing stood up to the durability and usability of Le Creuset. But I mean sure there are quality cheaper offerings but honestly you got an extremely well made product that is definitely worth the price.

@@tolga1cool I think the main difference is the lifetime guarantee and the upper-end of the market that they're aiming at. If I had money, I probably would buy Le Cresuet - as it happens, I can only afford their mini crock pots for making muffins or something, haha. You absolutely don't have to buy it, but it depends what you're looking for

Can I ask your opinion? I just bought a LC pot from Amazon (arrived today!) and was a little concerned because the box seemed a little worse for wear. It made me wonder if somebody had returned it. Anyway, it’s the 7.25 quart Dutch oven in Sea Salt. I really love it, but my eyes are too good, and I notice tiny, almost imperceptible imperfections. Should I return it or do all the pots have minuscule defects in the enamel? On the lid there is a tiny pinhole in the enamel, but I can’t see black through it or anything. And on the interior of the lid, where the embossed numbers and screw are, the enamel seems a little thin. It’s almost like I can see a little gray through the enamel on the numbers. Also, is the rim of the pot supposed to be unenameled? Happily, the interior of the pot appears to be smooth and without blemish. I’d hate to return it and get something worse. I’ve read online that they are handmade and therefore perfection is impossible. Am I being too picky? I think I may be because of the expense.

@@applepizzacat2426 Yes ! In France there is usually one day a week or two weeks when you can put anything bulky out and they pick it up. This has created a hobby of diving ! I used to go around at night walking my dogs and found some incredible stuff, much of it I gave to friends not brave enough to do this themselves. At one point I had six working nearly new vacuum cleaners! My best friend lived in St German like me and he did this each night, found mink coats, gold jewellery, paintings, Vuitton etc. He made a lot of money reselling it. Some of my best stuff came from the streets of Paris !
