I want to say Algeria along the coast has gigantic screens put up that moisture collects on runs down the screen and collects into tanks at the bottom. They then use that for irrigation of plants. It's been a highly successful project and has helped reclaim some of desert back into useful land again. The surprising thing that scientists who are watching these projects are learning is how important green space is. Green cools the air which helps is rain more often.
