I have witnessed sprites before first hand while on a plane! I saw huge domes of light exploding upwards from the clouds beneath us. I have tried researching this for years, trying to understand what I was seeing, and never found anything until now!

I do know about steam explosions from lightning from reading one book of lightning and hearing a lot of lightning flashes over the years. The cause of the steam explosions in a tree sap struck by lightning is caused by superheated air (50,000F) that causes a rapid expansion of gases in about 1/10 to 1/5 of a second...the thing that causes detonations in all fireworks that explode.

How can you see the positive streamers from the ground (as shown on the photos)? If they dont connect, with the negative charge from above, where do they go?

..."the ground is now aware (1:59) of there being a big surplus of negative electricity"..... so scientists are coming aware (very slowly) that the earth can be aware, something all original "primitive" peoples of the earth knew for thousands of years. Welcome to the real world.

What's more fascinating is that in an authentic Hadith recorded 1400 years ago, the Prophet Muhammad mentions the phenomenon of the lightning and its return back up. How did he know? The Quran also mentions the shape of mountains as being pegs. Also, the expansion of universe is mentioned. Also the Hadith about Bedouin Arabs competing each other in building tall buildings near the end times. Look at Qatar, UAE and Saudi.

But of course putting some effort into understanding how it really works would be too hard. Sod the scientific method of experimenting, drawing theories and then proving them, because what do scientists know, huh? Surely the best way is to form an opinion based on warm tummy feelings and then sticking to it no matter what.

1:21 Electron flow is from ground to positive as is voltage. Current flows opposite and 90* behind in phase. Logic dictates that the electron stream as it was called is actually a build up from the ground, where all electrons reside. When the conductivity and charge states are high the electrons build up from the ground until high enough for the high atmosphere + positive potential to jump gap. Ionizing the air along the way as current follows the electron path to ground. 90* behind and opposite voltage. Electronics 101. Am I a genius? Hell no! But modern mainstream science is a con job.

sorry but this is a terrible video. "lightning will strike anything that stands high above the ground" - wrong. " we don't know what guides lightnings jagged path or why it chooses to strike one place or another." wtf yes we do. It travels the path with least resistance. It sounds like a person who doesn't know anything about science wrote this dialogue and is suppose to be teaching people. When was this made like 30 years ago??
@BathroomTile11 жыл бұрын
That's the narrator's choice of words. It becomes apparent that dumbing down complex mechanics for the simple folk to understand a concept wasn't the best idea, because people like you further their ignorance and read into it literally. Besides, this is very poorly made, it looks the people writing the text were highschool students who've read the wiki page on lightning and slapped their broad understanding of how it seems to work.
