Sara, thank you for sharing your experience with this type of composting. I have done something similar called "trench" composting. I know the worms will eat it when the kitchen waste is buried, but I never did it in such a large quantity, nor did I look to see how well it had composted in such a short time. If you use bokashi sprinkle compost is formed from kitchen waste within one month of installation in the ground. Wonderful :)

Another experiment will be more accurate...take soil meassure it or weight it....make a box and place the bokashi compost and the weight soil on top...after two months come back and dig it ...screen it and see how much soil you really have...by weight

So if I understand this video correctly Bokashi compost is simply old food waste that has decomposed in the soil???

No. The compost is fermented, that is why it decomposes this quickly. Search at my KZfaq for other videos to learn more.
