If you're still ordering on line, that's no different than going to the grocery store, plus you're helping to shut down the local business for your convenience. Put the pigs waterer outside the fence, he can reach through the panels to drink.

There is absolutely NO difference between the grocery store and online, organic store, farmer’s market, or other means as you are still BUYING it and is NOT produce in your farm. Who really quits completely or almost completely the grocery store in the United States? I hate marketing tools with dubious accuracy!

It's illegal to wash eggs in most of the world, if there's a bit of dirt,use a dry scrubby to remove, but washing actually increases the risk of ecoli etc passing through the shell. Once dry it doesn't multiply,none of the other bacteria that cause stomach issues thrive in dry conditions either..only time they can thrive is once you've helped them get through the shell..
@freefahren2 ай бұрын
I think the kids barefoot in the chicken coop and then lying on the sofa transports enough bacteria that makes the eggs negligible.

I think if you really want to do year round, you're going to have to add one more green house/hoop house that you can warm in winter When necessary, for winter veggies, because all stored/frozen can be less than happily livable. (also you would be able to put in a couple of dwarf trees in there, like lemon and fig maybe an orange, that would make the whole idea more satisfying. fig will go dormant in winter regardless, but will get bigger and be happier if you can protect it for first 3-5 winters, thicker the trunk, the better it can handle winter.

Lots to learn from y'all, and appreciate the children learning tasks and responsibilities, not to mention some essential life skills....but.....• Why is it called "Justin Rhodes" with your face when it's totally a family working together? • This was one of those videos that the jumping around (though a bit better than some in the past) but particularly the MUSIC drove me nuts. Let us hear the natural sounds of working and around the farm...but especially stop the jumping around and hyped up music. I finally just had to mute it and watch/stop/turn back on, etc....but not very efficient use of my time as can't listen while doing other chores myself and only stopping to watch key things I must see to learn about. • Must agree that it's best just to say you are trying to "wean" from MOST things coming from a store (bricks & mortar OR online).

are you growing long green beans this year (the replacement for broccoli when it is out of season) - they freeze really well and my family have alway cooked them from frozen (we don't eat canned beans yuck) - bring a pot of water to boil with a good amount of salt once the water is at a rolling boil put the beans in and once the water has started to just boil again take the water out and add some butter and they are done (hot beans) - we also do cold green bean salad the same way but at the end instead of butter we put the into water with ice until they are cold - pour the water out using a colandar and add anything else you might like to it - one favourate is finely cut red onions and feta cheese with a nice home made dressing - green beans is an amazing vege that you can grab from the freezer all year round

I’m confused. Why are you shopping for milk products when you have milk cows? I laugh when I see the lack of upkeep around your place, it’s not like you work away from home and it’s not like you don’t have a small army of help, how do so many things get overlooked everyday?

They don’t like to process, store or preserve anything.

How much of your food do you grow? I also struggle with keeping up with aesthetics etc. While raising almost all of my own food. Do you have any suggestions? I do believe they spend lots of time on the videos and business side as well so they really do work. I only work 22 hrs a week and still struggle with energy for keeping up with everything.

@@reileywicken5391 they have new farm help so maybe she will be able to keep them focused. They also have someone doing the filming and editing. They also have people that take care of their pay to play business. What I see are people that just can’t get organized, they keep telling us they have been doing this for 15 years now. I just find it laughable that they have no set schedule. Maybe mom should spend a little more time getting organized/setting up a daily schedule and a little less time in bed or shopping online.
