Remove it and remove the inside of the converter then put it back on the car, better without the cat, engine runs cooler too plus more power

Don't replace. Stops replacing please stop. Just do what the Indians from India do. Take out the catalytic Use 3 gallons of diesel fuel and flush catalytic converter and after u flush it let it soak in dawn or any dish soap fully submerged with water 24 hours and rinse shake rinse shake then flush with distilled water ur cost 30 bucks 😉 and done u will have another 100k miles u welcome

My Catalytic converter stopped working at 125,000 and I’m stuck with p0421. I just got the car with 112,000. I just kept driving and driving and nothing happened. It’s just gonna be a little sluggish. gas mileage is not affected. My catalytic converter is trying to work, but it keeps clogging up and unclogging.

Hey. I have the PO420 code. I smell fumes etc in my car. Is this also Carbon Monoxide being released in my car. It smells bad, and I can smell the fumes on my clothes

Check your o2 sensor, may be blown and not reading correctly, plus a fresh set of sparkplugs should be good too if you have never replaced them

My Mechanic just told my Catalytic converter is going bad today 2/12/24 I have to replace it I’m not having any of the problems yet you said He said that the oxygen feed was not constant at 65 mph So that a sign he said But all the other lack of power or bad smells not happening yet I’m hoping it last two more weeks so I can get fixed

Thanks for the informative video. Will my 2007 vehicle start having a bad catalytic converter at 140,000 km (87,000 miles), or this is still too low of car mileage for it to be significant?

City driving reduces the life of the cat converter. Mine at 76k miles already clogged.

2006 Prius 211000 miles check engine light came on again after being in the shop for a month. Before that there was a burning smell while I was driving it on the freeway over 70 mph and triangle of death on. Mechanic said the hybrid battery and he sent the battery to some place to be replaced but they sent it back saying the hybrid battery is in good condition. I picked up the car yesterday and the check engine light came on. What could be the problem?? The car runs fine

Can a clogged converter cause engine failure? Took my f150 in for a front engine cover change due to a leak. Next time I drive it my engine stalled out. I had a p0420 code and they’re saying that the converter cause the engine to go out?

A clogged catalytic converter can cause exhaust fumes/heat to back-up onto the engine and cause it to overheat.

My old F-350 got the clogged cat, i thought at first it could be the torque concerter or the tranny going bad, just to discover the first honeycomb was turned into ashes and clogged the cat, it was running pretty well, but i guess a 2k mile trip loaded was too much for the old cat😅😅😅

Mysterious stalling? My car just started stalling out of nowhere for no reason. Struggling going up hill? Yep Poor acceleration? Yep What I’m lost on is that I did a back pressure test and it was fine. Idk but so far it at least seems to lean more on it being a cat problem

Check your torque converter then if your car-truck is automatic, i thought at first my tc was bad because of rough idling and then don't even wanted to start at all, poor acceleration, etc, i put down the tranny and tge muffler just to get the first honeycomb of the catalytic converter turned into ashes, and that clogged the second honeycomb of the cat (damn you ford!), so now i had a clogged cat and a pretty functional tranny and tc😅😅😅

gotta retune it. if you don’t retune, it’ll throw a CEL because the O2 sensors will read incorrectly and use the wrong fuel:air mixture

My Subaru just destroyed its cat so that is where all my oil was disappearing off to it was burning it and now it wont pass inspection in my state since its required to meet emissions until its 15 years old mine is 10 years old so yeah…. Even worse I have loan for $13,000 on it and the car lost all of its value only worth now $2,000 so im just not going to take it in I know structurally and mechanically its safe just wont meet emissions
