With 45% of the votes in my last poll, trackmania science series has won the right to get a sequel. I had the concept for thsi video for such a long time, so I'm glad I finally got it out. Maybe it's better that I waited for so long, because the standards for trackmania videos got a bit higher recently and because of that I've put quite a lot of effort into making this a bit more special than my usual uploads. In general I'm happy with the result, the commentary is a bit sloppy at some parts, but i hope it's fine. As someone said under one of my videos "any commentary is better than the "text on black screen" that many tm youtubers like to do".
I'm really looking forward to some constructive criticism as I really wanna improve at this kind of video style, I have many ideas and I wanna deliver them in the best possible way :D

@@n3lis94 In this context a trigger is a hitbox without collision feedback, which actually makes it an example that is closer to the definiton of a hitbox than the boxes around the blocks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collision_detection

@@n3lis94 I don't see how that is relevant. I'm not saying it's not a trigger, I'm saying a trigger is a subset of hitbox. If you're gonna cheese something on a technicality, at least make sure to define your self-imposed rules properly.

I have another solution ! You can place a water block into the ground and create a bug thanks to blockmix where your car will fall bellow the stadium in the water physics till it touchs the big sphere. With this strat you can probably have a time of over 30min or something. I don't know if it counts though haha because you said "in the air" and with my bug you are both in the air but in water physics

it's easy to create a hole in the grass and optimize the solution this way. he didn't mention it on this video but blockmix was against the rules

Okay but I think from a physics engine perspective, the car expects to be on a surface when you respawn, so for a single frame, the physics engine thinks the car is on the floor. So while this is *technically* the right solution, from a purely technological perspective, I disagree lol

creative solution but i would count each respawn as a separate flight attempt (due to the cars position being reset), making it into an infinite series of 0.2s flights rather than one infinitely long flight

Nope, your solution does not work with your own rules: The time starts when you go off a hitbox and stopps, when you hit one again. This implies you have to be on a hitbox to begin with.

lets put aside your solution a little tip for the other way i build a few maps with the nogrip block and found out that the flight pysiks change if your in air with nogrip that could make a minor difference of the overall time of falling

TMNF is the most popular as in most recognised by people, even if it's not the most active right now, there is so many people that played the game at some point of their life. TM2020 currently probably has the biggest amount of active players and it's still probably going to grow as developers keep on adding new content, however in TMNF there is still a huge bunch of core players (last month we had a big competition and we managed to hit the server limit with 250 players in one place which is pretty cool for such an old game)
