They actually take the belt system very serious. I forgot my white belt one day so i borrowed a yellow one. Everyone was saying sarcastically that's the fastest they ever seen someone get a new belt. No mercy that day

10 years and you have to be determined and dedicated train in jiu Jitsu pretty much everyday 🥋

No bro are you serious lol 10 years is regular bj penn trained everyday and got it in 3 years for like 2-3 hours no rest days 10 years is probably like 3 times a week training once a day Joe rogan would skip classes cause of his comedy tours that’s why it took him so long in that case it should take 20 years for most people I see so many black belts

Respect for the hard work he put in- he earned it. Had a friend say she got a black belt within a year start to finish and I immediately called bullshit. Not all instructors are the same, some just hand out belts for profit which isn't right - the person ends up thinking they are way more proficient in the sport than they actually are and eventually they find out when they get in the ring with someone like Mr. Rogan who is a BMFer.

Not in Jiu Jitsu she didn’t. That’s insane and no legitimate coach would EVER give that out in a year. To even get a blue belt in a year is considered fast.

When I first started at The Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA back in the day, it took about 15 years to get a Gracie black belt. Rener and Ryron Gracie were my instructors.

I'm almost 3.5 years in, I hope to have purple at 5.5 years, and brown at 8.5 or 9 years. I don't think I'll ever reach black tbh.

Took me 25 years. Best decision I ever made was starting jits. I’m 50yo, but in pretty good health because jits changes your entire lifestyle for the better

Rocky Marciano is thee toughest sob in the hurt business of his mitts breaking down any mans muscles, physically through the later rounds. Yes roc was knockdown twice, due to a flu and the second was the same again He was like Mike tyson if not better in my opinion

Fax doin bjj 11 years and still got my white belt and been going 3-4 days a week and doin competitions and gettin first and submitting a lot of blue belts and some purple belts but my coach doesn’t think I’m ready which I’m cool with whatever his gym his rules

@@ericsaibotXD decades ... boxing is the MOST BASIC FORM OF COMBAT ... Muay Thai is the same except add in a few kicks (the only kicks that are useful in a real fight are the front kick, the side kick, the calve kick, the roundhouse kick, the low kick and the spinning back kick ... none of which are hard to master) ... and there's only so much you can do with knees and elbows ... as for the clinch ... a basic grappling hold that serves no challenge for someone who's grappled before such as in wrestling, jiu jitsu and judo ...

If it takes 10,000 hrs to reach a goal, you can cut it in half by working 20,000. Someone that became a black belt training twice a week for 10yrs vs someone training 4 times a week. Ie 10th planet geo got a black belt in a 1 year

With atleast 2 hours of training almost everyday, it will take you about 12+ years. Its different for a lot of people but this is just from research. I dont have the experience yet lmao

@juicepower a guy in my academy got his black belt in 8 years. He trained 5 days a week and his coworkers were all black belts and he constantly rolled with them. He said one of the black belts worked with him a lot.

I was at BrownBelt for six years because I wasn't training as much as I should of, Joe Rogan is right. Took me fourteen years to earn my Blackbelt in BJJ. I started as a white belt in BJJ in 2009. In 2024 I was promoted to a Blackbelt in BJJ.
