I consider you the best "sim" channel for this game. IMO keep doing what you're doing. You hunt different animals with different styles of hunting exploring different reserves. All the great one grind channels are white noise at this point IMO. My only suggestion would be switch up your weapons from time to time, like shotgun hunt, take the crossbow out, use the .243 Pistol etc.

When I was 16 I grunted in a monster buck in bow season and he walked almost directly under my treestand. He was maybe 10 yards and I couldn't quit shaking. I didn't account for the steep angle due to him being so close and I missed right over his back. Still think about that buck to this day and that was over 20 years ago. I've never seen a buck that big ever since.

I got my first Great One Red Deer about a week ago. TR: 268.24, Fur: Fable Spotted, Weight: 556.44lbs. Rifle: 308 Double lung from 164.64 yds. I think my neighbors heard me cheer. I just happened to spott him wandering throuigh the forest to pick up an Axis deer. Of course, I only played far less time on Parque Fernando where I got it. I don't think I shot too many red deer. Maybe, just guessing, about 200. Also, I just shot whatever I saw. I have only played 923.57 hours with a grand total combined harvest for all maps of 5023.

Imagine anyone of those bucks walking under your tree stand during bow season or gun. Talk about “buck fever”. Sends chills down the spine. Awesome shooting DD and rock on 🤘😎

I got my great one white tail on Mississippi map at level 30. I never thought I would find one

I got a red deer GO just hunting Hirsch. Only red deer I killed was for a couple of quest, then 2 days later looking for bison I found his disturbed veg. I only shot 6's or lower in the few I found so he basically spawns off anything. It was even on the opposite side of the map I hadn't hunted yet. You may have one on your map after respawn tbh but I'm guessing it's coded to spawn anywhere so every few days you gotta check all your spots. That's pretty much why NE is horrible as WT/Moose are at all the water. Great for stalking but once you spawn a GO you'll be lucky if it spawns on the route you take most the time.

on friday I wlaked up to a level 3 on revotulini coast and the whitetail estimate was 272-313 and was max weight and scored 272

I've been noticing a lot of players seem to dislike or disagree with the grinding aspect of The hunter: cotw. I agree with them. It doesn't represent the reality of hunting at all. That said, sitting in a stand for 8 hours a day for weeks or months isn't really appealing for most people either. But that feeling you get when the animal you've been waiting so long for finally comes into view is priceless. I just recently started making cotw content. My playstyle is different from anyone I've seen. I tend to only shoot animals within 150 yards, and usually within 100 yards. I try to call in animals as I'm stalking. I use the starter scope only. I use the grelck rifle as it's both a big rifle round capable of taking things up to tier 9 and a 16ga shotgun which I like to use for tier 4 animals and birds. I also run a compound bow,.243 cuomo,.22 rifle and 10mm pistol. That is my main load out which allows me to be able to harvest every tier of animal. However I plan on making a lever action and revolver load out soon which should be lots of fun. I love the challenge of close range hunting. I'm also planning on finding a travel zone between a couple of whitetail feed zones for a tree stand spot. My idea is to hopefully be able to call in bucks from 3 or so feedzones without actually being right on the feedzone. Right now I'm having to do a lot of stalking because I have no feedzones as I started a new save. But over time I will discover feedzones and be able to set up blinds and stands for ambush hunts. However some animals like coyotes and boars are fun to stalk and spot hunt. Also considering they are nuisance animals in real life I allow myself to aggressively harvest them. But if there is more than one big whitetail (or other non nuisance animal) or if I'm doing herd managment, I will only shoot one each time it comes in or I come across the herd again. None of this gross shooting everything you can as fast as you can. I also try to teach in my videos about the ethics of hunting and various facts about the animals I'm hunting. My videos may be a bit long and slow paced for some, with only a handful of harvest per episode but I really enjoy making them. I also like to get multiple species in each hunt as well as show off some missions from time to time. Dd33, flinter and fooster were the only ones I would watch back in the day. But now everyone is just doing grind videos and it's no longer enjoyable to watch. I hope that maybe one day my style of playing catches on and more people watch it. Maybe just maybe big cotw youtubers will adapt the style and I can go back to watching them again.

I have been playing this game for a year and a half and I have not been able to find a diamond whitetail. I do not get to spend a lot of time each day.

Ive been playing since launch on xbox. took time off when bored. I have 420 kills with 40 golds. No diamonds and no legendary animals. Not sure where to see how many hours ive spent in game but it has been well over 420 hours - so im guessing i avg less than an animal an hour.

You are one of the few cotw creators that I see being original and not every 1 video to see that you find something super rare like most and be idolized, that's why I think that your content is true, I don't believe in others, that's why I like it and enjoy when You find an animal because I know there really is work and not servers or cheats

I've got a lodge full of diamond whitetail trying to get a great one and killed less than 400 red deer 4 were diamond and got a great one doesn't make sense

I was able to get two great one moose in a row on Yukon valley the other day and I’ve only been playing the game for 3 weeks😂

I appreciate you approaching the Great One issue from the viewpoint you do. I think this content will encourage a lot of people to pursue the gameplay through its original purpose: to provide authentic hunting experiences (as much as a game can, anyway). Thank you!

You are a good content creator and I like that you play this "game" the way it was intended. With that said, you don't seem to understand how RNG works and that harvesting diamonds has little or nothing to do with eventually spawning a Great One.

Has dd ever heard about grinding that is the way to get a great one for so long now. You're not going to get a great one by just hunting around. Accept that grinding is in this gameand don't make such a big deal of it

I feel that the devs should have a great one on every map and make it a lone wolf type of animal.. not have it restricted to one herd.. have him roam the entire map so we can all get a chance at harvesting one of them.. killing 2000 or 4000 animals is alot to ask of me and probably most of the community would agree because for me personally i work alot and when im not working i want to spend my time with the family not play call of the wild for 5 to 10 hours a day 😂 great video bud.

How long does it take.. ive been playing for around 4 years and killing ALOT of whitetails and never seen one.. i gave up trying to spawn a great one because grinding ruins the game for me.. i prefer treestand hunting and calling in animals.. thats more immersive for me.
