I think I remember this episode, I think it turns out she wasn't actually a psychopath, but had a critical medical condition/disease that made her act like one. The doctors figured it out when her sister came to visit and described her sounding like a completely different person when she was younger- kind, caring and self-sacrificing, raising her little sister on her own after their parents died or abandoned them.

As someone with ASPD, I absolutely would say that I was in a context where it makes sense? We don't constantly have the compulsion to lie, it's not constant, just consistent, and for me at least, it's usually just to establish control over someone else's reality. If me being straightforwards still lets me have that control, so much the better. It's just that whether they think positively or negatively of us doesn't factor into it as an overriding concern, so like, them not fucking with psychopaths isn't inherently going to make us always avoid saying it or not. Y'all are the weird ones about that stuff

As House said, doesn't experience normal emotions, not no emotions. Psychopaths can still feel things but because they lack empathy their emotional response is not the same as other people. A vast majority of psychopaths would rather fit into society than stick out and so learn to mimick the way normal people behave, masking the fact they don't actually feel that way for the sake of fitting in.
@sniggs101
@sniggs101 Жыл бұрын
Psychopaths do have empathy, that is what gives them a better understanding of emotions and emotional responses. Its the complete lack of remorse that makes them extremely good at applying the appropriate emotion at the right level to manipulate outcomes in their favour. Many high level business executives are psychopaths, they understand their employees and clients and thus able to apply methods to manipulate a desirable outcome that ultimately benefits themselves and have no remorse for the financial or emotional impact it may have on their staff or customers. Play the "I know exactly how you feel" card to get them on side and take as much from them as you can with no regret.
@caihah.1404

I met a guy online - just a friend with a group of friends. After a while he let me know he was clinically a psychopath. He wasn't proud of it, but he ethically wanted me to know. He didn't have emotions and had a struggle trying to fit into the realm of people who had emotions. He had to act and play a roll to disguise himself and was always second guessing how people would respond to certain situations. Sometimes he got it wrong and eventually it caught up to him and certain friends started to cut him off. I know the struggles he went through. I think once he noticed his charm was wearing off, he just disappeared out of the group. When he was still around, he was always the life of the party and everyone came together because of him. Once he was gone, the group sort of slowly broke up and went their own ways... So he was also a catalyst for bringing people together. He was a master manipulator of people though, and used people for his own means. He was your friend only when he could get out of you what he needed. I still miss the guy and always wonder what happened to him. I wish him well.

I'm not a psychopath, more a sociopath than anything, but I've been in a number groups where I was the only thing holding everyone together and when my own behavior got me ostracized from the group it essentially totally fell apart. for clarity's sake: I feel emotions, or at least some emotions. I can genuinely cry - albeit rarely, - I can be content, which is about the closest I've ever been to what people describe as "happy" and I can at least vaguely feel affection. I however don't experience empathy, guilt or any form of regret/remorse, and I'm impulsive. some of my friends describe me as a "taker," saying that I stick with people for what I want out of them and then let them fall by the wayside once their use is expired. I've been considering seeking a professional diagnosis of ASPD so I can more succinctly explain my behavior to people who I need that get upset with me.

Only one thing. A narcissist which by definition is anti social behavior by psychopathic traits are extremely polished manipulators. Similar to the grooming behavior of a sexual predator; the narcissist side "grooms" their intended "supply" by first seeking emotional support and help followed by seeking physical support all the while gaining the confidence of their victim or new "supply." It's a at first slow and methodical process. The main purpose is to gain the confidence of their new victim in order to begin to pull out personal information about the new supply and/or victim in hopes of gaining some type of information that they can later use against their new victim in order to control, manipulate, frustrate, blackmail or even extort from that person. Boundaries only work when the person who is using them actually knows that they are in need. With a narcissist grooming capabilities the abuse is very subtle. Moreover, they tend to destroy their victim's support centers. Parents. Siblings. Friends. Law Enforcement..The Courts. Primary Care physicians. Employers. Hospital staffs. Neighbors. Pastors. Rabbi's. Priest. Church groups such as men's and women's groups such a as Bible studies. Lenders. Credit Unions or Banks. Their own Family members. Nieces. Nephews. Aunt's. Uncle's. Grandparents if any are still alive. County Governments. It takes a victim to reach out to a total stranger in asking for help in getting a hold of the relationship where the stranger then can see from outside of the relationship that the victim doesn't need help with fixing a so called broken relationship, but to run from the actual fully functioning abuse system. Because the victim doesn't understand that another person could be so evil. Polished liars and thieves. The only difference between a male narcissist and a female narcissist is genitalia. That's it. Other than that there isn't any distinction. Both can be physically violent. Chameleon like. I know what I am talking about. There is NO cure. Any Dr. who believes otherwise is a quack or a money grabber..

An engineering company I worked at had a psychopath as the second-hand man to the Engineering Division Manager. If there were a task that would be particularly stressful, like purging people in the organization, The Psycho was more than happy to get blood on his hands. The Division Manager took a couple of days of vacation, and when he came back, the carnage was over. The Psycho went whistling down the hall.
