My dot dr fail me cuz I haven’t done my sleep apnea do to recall and the machines being on back order she didn’t let me explain and just failed me :/ I don’t know what to do now ..

OK Dr., this is my question. I have two valid DOT certificates. I had an employer hiring me for a position to do over the road driving but I have a two-year and a three month certificate, which one is valid

Any idea on when or how long it the process is before the vision requirement is changed? I am 100% blind in my left eye and would rather do my cdl through a national carrier with little out of pocket costs rather than having to do it out of pocket in my own in state.

QUESTION. In regards to High BP and Diabetes 💊 Medication. What happens if I “DO NOT” report this during DOT physicals. My understanding is Company can find out through “prescription database” of some kind? Or something of that nature? That they will know somehow that I am on medication.? May you elaborate l? Thanks

there is no prescription database. It’s up to the driver to report the medication

Sorry for the repeat post but I posted under someone else’s comment and I was not sure if you saw my comment/question. I recently took my physical everything was fine but resting heart rate, they told me to came back later it was still high still would not fail or pass. I came back next day my rate lowered but test dr was not in so I came back 2 days later rate was fine again but dr now wants me to go for ekg and blood tests and is Unwilling to recheck I told dr I was dehydrated on day of test. Can I go to another dr or my primary and completely redo my physical or do I have finish where I started the physical

You should follow the doctors advise but you are able to see any CME to get clearance to drive

Hai Dr. One year ago I got one year certification because high BP. But this year my BP was 150/80 the first time than the second time was 138/78 but the DR certified me for one year. He told me that once I got it for a year I can’t go back to 2 years. Is that true?

This is up to the doctor. High blood pressure is generally considered to be a chronic condition and once you are diagnosed with it you manage it for life.

Thanks for the information Do you have to go see a doctor if you get a 3 month card by law or can you get your blood pressure down by yourself and then re test in 3 months

You just need to have blood pressure under 140/90 at your next DOT physical

In regards to vision issues and requirements in illinois. Illinois does not offer ANY waiver for vision. So if the federal side gets rid off vision requirements how does that help me since illinois still doesn’t offer any type of waiver or exemption for vision? You mentioned last week about federal side changing requirements. Right now federal will give a vision waiver IF you’ve been driving with a cdl for 3 years. I can’t get a cdl in illinois because I can’t pass the vision portion. I was born with a bad left eye and it is not correctable. Right eye is 20/20. No color blind issues in either eye. Just can’t pass an eye exam with my left eye only.

The changes that the FMCSA are talking about would do away with the waiver and just make it easier to pass the DOT physical with only one "good" eye.

@@EasyDOTPhysicals so if they do away with the waiver does that change illinois standards? That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Illinois has its own requirements so if federal does away with the waiver what does that mean for someone like myself in illinois with their requirements? I have a question…bare with me incase I go all over the place lol…but I had a heart transplant when I was 9 years old due to congestive heart failure…I’m 24 now and have had no medical conditions regarding my transplant so there’s no health related issues that follow…I am on certain heart medications only to protect the heart from any diseases like coronary disease etc…how ever I am on a blood pressure medication not because I have high blood pressure but because the medication helps protect against heart enlargement now again 15 years strong and still no health related issues (thank you God)….my question to you is…because of my condition can it limit me from a one year certification to a 6 month certification or even worse disqualify me?? Thank you

your condition would likely be limited to 1 year certification but would require clearance from a cardiologist. This would all depend on what the medical examiner finds and is up to them.

I have a medical card for 2 years and the new job wanted me to get a new one but the new card is 3 mouths with sleep study do my old one exists

In my opinion the old card is not expired but the new card should replace the old and the directions of the doctor doing the most recent physical should be followed
