I wanted to experience the modern side of Karachi, so I headed for the Mövenpick hotel, visited modern Dolmen Mall and went for a delicious meal - find out what I thought!

Knafeh or kunafah (the dessert you had) is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, made with spun pastry called kataifi, soaked in a sweet, sugar-based syrup , and typically layered with cheese (where its originated in Nablus in Palestine ) , or with other ingredients such as clotted cream, pistachio or nuts, depending on the region. It is popular in the Middle East and turkey.

No sir Karachi is not mini pakistan this is an overwhelming Urdu speaking city with its genetic generosity to accomodat all the citizens from the rest of the pakistan for their search in making jobs and business here! Had there been no migration of Indian muslims to Karachi Pakistan would never have a vibrant and an agile urban society like Karachi city which generates the all economic financial educational trade and industrial impulse across the pakistan! So Karachi is culturally an Urdu speaking urban society in a largely and otherwise a tribal pakistan with perhaps the only exception of Lahore being equally a rare urban center like Karachi!

First of all Thank you for coming here to Pakistan and visiting us!! ❤❤ In the Movenpic hotel, the asian restaurant was Japanese, since it's name was "Sakura" which means cherry blossoms in Japanese. The place place you thought was a seafood restaurant, was a place where they have buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and on sunday it's brunch. the leaf used in the Paan is called Betel leaf. it is edible and it helps with an upset stomach. it's a powerhouse of anti-oxidants. You went to Ridan for lunch! that's my go to place for mandi anytime. Mutton Madfoon is superior to chicken. personally my favorite.

That desert you had is called Kunefe and is from the Middle East and turkey. Never ever seen kunefe in Karachi, strange But it’s lovely to eat

Carrie FYI, Butlers Chocolate is an irish brand, wish i was there so could show you around some of the best and authentic eatery places, but lets hope you had a pleasant stay in our town i know its a bit chaotic there alright but it is still our home ❤

@@carriepatsalis They don't seem to have it in the UK, but you can have them in Lahore and Islamabad too, try their truffles and thank me later. Come over to Dublin its only a 40 minutes flight and try Irish food and culture, you will love it.

Good video, BUT as your title goes Luxury Karachi I think you chose the wrong guides they seem very quite, religious and Conservative. Lot of these people dont have a clue about luxury and modern Karachi or any city in fact. Let me know prior to your next visit I will organise your guides to show you real modern and luxury Karachi, in brief you would not know if you were in a Balgravia, Knightsbridge or in Karachi. There are literally tens of restaurants, bars and so on in every city but all depends on the circle of people one associates with and where they live. Best wishes keep making great videos.

Loving the exchange rate-I googled that Mövenpick; tell ya what, for a hundred quid a night it’s not bad at all eh? Given the quality I mean, obv expensive for Pakistan but you’d be lucky to get a Travelodge for that at home. I’m off back to India v soon and half thinking about splurging on a night in the Taj Palace in Mumbai..😃I’m usually all about the £10 guesthouses in Paharganj with a shared khazi, one entrance and six exits😂. You’re absolutely rocking that necklace btw, tres Egyptian..

I totally agree! I am paying like £130 when I go away with work in the U.K. for relatively basic places.. so it was a nice treat! Thanks re the necklace too! Would help if I wore it the right way around.. it slips and I never notice 😆(only in the edit do I realise 🙄)

@@carriepatsalis Me too, I fit, move & refit offices and the cost for accommodation is silly. Mind you, I’ve a massive soft spot for a Premier Inn. And Lenny Henry’s not wrong about those Hypnos mattresses. Just booked one night at Heathrow T4 for under £80 with dinner, a drink and brekkie. I *love* the Purple Palace.
