Jack Ruby said that if JFK would have gone with a different VP the assassination wouldn’t have happened.

Agree! We still don't know the truth. I also think John Jr was killed by the Clinton organization.

Probably it wouldn't have. It's much like Andrew Johnson when he was vice president. He was born in Raleigh North Carolina so he was a southerner and LBJ was from Texas. He thought he should have been president not JFK. But LBJ did what Andrew Johnson did not, which was give rights to African Americans. Americans.

And that in No way makes LBJ guilty of anything whatsoever! LBJ wasn't going to run against Bobby Kennedy and he was killed too so..... I guess I'd be curious who didn't want a Kennedy as President!

I've read many books about LBJ and watched multiple documentaries on him. I really believe circa 1963 that LBJ didn't believe he would be alive in next 15 years - he wouldn't be - and he didn't want to be his legacy to be that who was on the wrong side of history when it came to civil rights.

I totally believe this. I am pretty sure that he had multiple health issues in the 1950s including some heart attacks, and he had a family history of people dying fairly young. Whatever the motivation, it is absolutely fitting that the "Southern Democrat" with a long, complicated history of racial issues was ultimately the one that delivered to the country something that had been unable to been delivered for 200 years. I don't think a "northern liberal" would have been able to get the bills through, but LBJ knew how to wheel and deal and expertly use his own prior past of racism in order to push the legislation through Congress. I think part of it was that he didn't want to be known for being the racist Southerner, but also that he truly believed in a Greater Society where people regardless of race or origin could at least begin life on a *somewhat* level playing field. The Great Society he envisioned for all of us is something that proves my argument, I would say. If LBJ wasn't a teacher in that poor town in Texas before he got into politics and didn't get to experience first hand the absolute poverty and racial inequity of our country, who knows how many more decades we would have waited for civil rights and voting rights. When you consider presidents and their lasting legacy, things that survive for decades and generations after they are long gone, I will always believe that despite his Vietnam flaws Lyndon B. Johnson was one of, if not the greatest presidents in our country's long history. A president you could truly be proud of, despite any flaws he may have had especially in his earlier years. It truly is a shame that Vietnam and 1968 happened, and he stepped down and Nixon came into office. Who knows what would have happened if LBJ stayed in and possibly won, and was able to achieve 4 more years of progress. I think the country would look a lot different than it ended up looking in the 70s and 80s.

The pilot on Air Force 1 said LBJ was partying and drinking with his friends so loud after the assassination that they had to shut the door so Jackie wouldn’t hear them. Also, Jackie went to the bedroom on Air Force 1 and saw LBJ in his boxers laying in JFKs bed.

I don’t believe that at all. Johnson and Jackie were very good friends and he would not have disrespected her in such a way. It’s a fabricated story.

That did not happen. LBJ wasn't sure if the assassination was a precursor to a nuclear strike. LBJ was on the phone much of the time. Don't buy into bogus history.

LBJ was the worst president we ever had . He had people killed and he was a drunk and liar . He also had a part of JFK death . JFK was the best President ever . Johnson was a crook and was going to jail and possibly removed from office due to his corruption and all the money he made on contracts he also was a raciest . He was a bad human being
