Firmino is underrated as a forward because he wasn't the sharpest finisher. He had great technique, brilliant in tight spaces, creative passer, versatile and a workhorse. He's arguably the best false 9 the Premier League has seen.

The Fab 3. One of the most iconic front 3 attackers in football and the most iconic in Liverpool. What makes it work so well is Firmino before joining Liverpool is actually a #10 for Hoffenheim. However after joining Liverpool and Klopp arrived later, due to Benteke not fitting for Liverpool Firmino was forced to play as a false 9 and he thrived because he had the technical ability and intelligence to play in that position unlike Kai Havertz. Salah and Mane are inside forwards tearing up the football world before joining Liverpool and they become icons. Salah was a Chelsea reject sold to Roma and done well while Mane at Southampton was their best player, still holds the record for the fastest Premier League hat trick ever. To sum things up, all three of them took Liverpool to new heights and won everything at the club albeit losing two Champions League finals to Madrid and on both occasions missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City. If I have to rank the Fab 3, I would rank them up there with the BBC(Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo) and the MSN(Messi, Suarez and Neymar). Sure the Fab 3 scored far less goals than the other front 3 I mentioned but like the other front 3 they won silverware including the Champions League.

Great breakdown of what made these guys so lethal. In 21/22 they were phenomenal, and probably should have done the quadruple. Hopefully Salah can keep up his performances in the coming years before he retires. But I think this trio's successors are Gakpo, Nuñez and Luis Díaz

In my country they were called Firmansah (acronym of FIRmino, MANe, SalAH) by some. It's funny because it is a rather common name albeit not the most popular.

just watch a firmino assist video. how many times has he done an unexpected backheel pass to unlock the defense. his passing was the key. you could put any other top wingers on to replace mane and salah but without firmino it would not be the same.

Mane is the most important of the 3. Why? Mane brought the dog out of the team. When he left every player on opposing teams said Liverpool will struggle and sure they did. If we had Mane instead of Salah we make top 4 easily. We don't lose to Forest, Bournemouth, Leeds. You can't call yourself great and not show up against those teams. That's where the league is won or lost. Liverpool drew to the top 6 in Mané's last season and we finished 2nd one point behind Mane never gets credit for his defense running back to help ROBBO then going back to score goals. The stats are all there.
