Me personally we need that main striker who is going to score 25 plus goals a season so I would go for m longstaff from county but are we willing to pay what county are asking ????can we afford him yes but it depends o him . I think we need another defender somebody with pace. Or harry Smith from sutton utd . But I think the main core is there and I'm going to say now we.ll finish above stockport and Wrexham. And looking at the side in league one there us.nt much difference. So here on this day I'm going to top 5 for me colin henson

The age old conundrum of “would you rather be wing most weeks in the league below or losing most weeks in a league above” springs to mind. Carlisle, Fleetwood, Port Vale, have found this out in L1 And not to mention what’s happened to FGR since storming promotion out of L2 a couple of years ago. It’s an expensive business- and the higher up you go the more expensive it gets if you want to remain competitive. I can see Wrexham doing a Luton Town and making it to the Premier League- but where Stags can realistically get to - as with all the other teams -comes down to money. The positive is that Nigel Clough has done brilliant with a modest budget before (with Burton) and next season I predict he will achieve a creditable league position (if had to I’d guess 11/12th)

Luton did it without the money though, that's the difference. Wrexham won't be able to continue spending the way they have now or they'll get hit with financial breaches etc. It'll make more sense for them to stay in the league for a season or two, unless they can spend smartly and improve where they need to, without throwing money around

I agree with most of this! Although I'm not sure I would get rid of McLaughlin and I'm not sure how eager we would be to sign Brunt permanently given that we have Kilgour coming back from injury at some point - With Kilgour and Flint as our initial starting CB pairing, Brunt might find it difficult to get much game time, especially when we also have Cargill who can play either LB or CB depending on what's needed.I'd keep McLaughlin as a backup for Cargill, someone who can be rotated in and out of the squad depending on the game. There still might be a place for Brunt in the squad permanently though, as he has been good in a defensive midfield role on the odd occasion we have needed him there. As much as I'd love it if we kept Oates, I worry he's become too injury prone. Wouldn't be surprised if we sold him.

Callum Johnson was one of our best players once he’d got his match sharpness back , he will stay 100% Calum McDonald is similar but he’s just never fit so he will most likely go Bowery has been offered a new deal and is a fan’s favourite but clough has made it clear that he won’t play him as striker even though he scored a belter and was mom the only game this season he played up top so I don’t see him playing next season Brunt is a worry , he’s been our best defender and will play in the prem one day 100% , don’t see them selling us him though tbh Hopefully Hartigan stays as well And Clarke is integral for us

“Oates is woeful aswell , his pace scares defenders in L2 but his finishing in large is horrendous he scores one good goal a season and every other one he just hits it as hard as he can and hopes for the best , doesn’t even look most of the time

Some dead wood win League 1 even after the relegated teams are removed at the end of this year. Should be able to establish in that league and see where we go from there.

Great video. Calum Johnson is a very good RB & plenty good enough for L1 but does seem to pick up a lot of injuries. I do like Oates but sadly he's just not good enough for L1. Also Akins needs to go but with our best wishes. Macca showed signs of coming back to his old form in the last few matches but again is quite injury prone so sadly again we should let him go. Another LB is a vital addition as cover for Cargill. Getting Brunt back would be huge as he's improved as the season has gone on and would add to the strength in depth of the defence. A sizeable striker is a must also. Nichols, Swan & DKD are on the smaller side so a big guy up front would be great. I've heard talk of Clarke-Harris from Peterborough but think there'll be plenty of others after him as well. As for a finishing position for us?? A nice 12-15th would be decent but I'd settle for anything above 21st. :)

Love that, you predicted the top 3 at the beginning of the season. Some great choices for signing. Though not sure about keeping rhys oates, in and out with injury this season never got going, although given a run will score goals .

Calum Johnson and Callum McDonald both have more to give as they have both been injured for a lot of the season. They’ve both shown they have talent especially Johnson, he’s just abit of a sick note. I think they have more to give and would keep them. George Williams would be a very good squad player to use as cover at fullback in my opinion - we’ve had so many injuries this year it’s important to have competent players as 2nd choice in the squad. Bowery release is a tough one. He gives everything, he’s very versatile and offers pace and strength. I just don’t think he has the talent for L1. He’s cemented himself in our history books now, he’s an all round top top guy but that doesn’t get you a new contract unfortunately.

Good analysis. As some others have said , I think the aim will be mid table consolidation - but we definitely need to improve in the off season. Bit of a worry that we don’t have Sharpe as he was a major contributor to our key recruitment targets. Bradford’s gain is Mansfields loss - but in clough we trust 😊

Quinny has a property development company and he is concentrating on that from what I’ve heard , Maris will get another season 100% as will Ollie Clarke , swan is contracted till 2025 , a lot of the players mentioned have suffered with injuries and that is why their stats are down , we need to sign brunt he’s been great all season , I think we will do well to hold on to DKD everyone is sniffing around him and he may end up in the championship ? Great honest video again keep it up buddy

Just on George Williams, stats might not sound great, but he's been immense recently. Hasn't been starting because of a sore achilles, meaning Lucas has had to take over for while, or do alternative starts

I think it should be more about whether clough wants to stick with mansfield or not rather than it being the other way round. He did a great job at Burton. We now know all that went on at Derby which puts into perspective the great job he did there. Things obviously didn't work at Sheffield United. But now at mansfield he's proven if given the time he knows how to put a team together. Really he deserves one last crack at a decent sized club. However, the kind of guy he it I reckon he's far too loyal to mansfield and will stick it out until they eventually have a bad run and he gets sacked.
