@@scousegodoncod saka 10 goals, 13 assists all comps nunes 11 goals, 11 assists all comps they compared nunes in all comps to saka in the prem. they got the stat wrong. also one was doing it in the champions legue the other the europa. Jesus is tied third in G&A in the UCL with 6 having played 5 games each. thats more than Mbappe at 3 who played a game more. Saka is tied second in G&A in the UCL with 7. Thats tied with Haaland, Jude Bellingham & Harry Kane (who has played a game more). Saka not being in is wild and Jesus is having a better season than Nunes but the latter point is more debatable.

@@stellaroid7788 yeah but you just put him on the left. Half way through games he switches over for phases of play anyway. It’s pretty simple. Salah is the only right winger objectively better than Saka. The next level down is Saka & Leroy Sane. Who both have 23 G/A in 29 games this year. Saka is performing better in the UCL and is doing it in the prem so make of that what you want. If you want to include left wingers Vini Jnr and Mbappe if you want to include him as a winger are the only two objectively better than Saka. Son & Kvaratskhelia are competitive, we can have a discussion but it’s not definitive. No other winger in world football besides the ones I mentioned are in the conversation to get into a team on either side over Saka.

Odegaard has definitely been the most consistent out of all the forwards this year. He isn’t scoring as many and it looks like it’s an instruction from the manager to not shoot as often, probably in favour of keep the ball longer to carve out a better chance (personally not a big fan of that tho). But he’s really good in and around the box, just doesn’t get G/A like certain players so people think he’s been rubbish

Jones fits the team better. He was made for LFC, always a positive lift to his team, as a captain leading the group & scoring 4 a game or coming off the bench for the seniors. He’s an all round decent pro. Szoboszlai’s a great player, fear the midfield that has room for them both.

for me curtis has to be in the midfield, szoboszlai has had super high highs but he hasn’t been consistently great. Curtis has been an 8 out of 10 every single game whereas szoboszlai has had a few 6’s. If odegaard is in the team and u have to choose one liverpool midfielder it would be curtis for me. He gets overlooked cus he doesn’t do anything crazy like score worldies or whatever or play that final killer pass but he does all the basics perfectly and u need a player like that

I don’t think szoboszlai was great against chelsea at all, he wasn’t bad but was just ok and had a few bad touches or passes but he scored so you’ll see people online say he played well

Nunez is doing everything right in the forward line - makes tons of runs, pops up everywhere with lots of energy, takes up good scoring positions, has shooting power and technique, presses well, tracks back; absolutely chaotic causing havocs to the back lines - the only thing he's bad at? End product AKA scoring goals. But he still scores more and has twice goal involvement than Jesus does (14 vs 7), playing only 200 more mins.

The argument is that Darwin should be getting so much more because he's an out and out striker and that's why Liverpool bought him. Jesus isn't an out an doubt striker, Arsenal bought him so he could bring in players like Saka and Martinelli. That's what he's been doing and his goals are often just bonuses. But yeah this season Darwin has been so my much better.

The front three is harder to pick this season because none of the Arsenal attackers have actually done that well individually, but I think - as an LFC fan and as much as a love Nunez - looking at the players overall Saka should 100% be in there in a Salah-Jota-Saka three (or you could shuffle Salah and Jota over and put Saka on the right if you have to).

Joe Gomez should be England’s starting left back for the Euros. Shaw’s been decent since coming back from injury, Chilwell’s been miles off it, and Colwill/Trippier aren’t natural left backs and haven’t been great this season.

They could play something like a 3-5-2 in possession with Gomez, Stones, Walker at the back and Trent inverting and coming into midfield. You could put Foden and Bellingham ahead of Rice and Trent… imagine Foden and Bellingham operating in the half spaces

I disagree as an Arsenal fan. Konate & Gabriel have been the shining lights of both defenses although Saliba & VVD are elite. Odegaard does not get anywhere into the team imo.

@@Stixinator1 I'd sum up Odegaard like this: watching him is a delight - he's one of the best players in Europe to simply watch - but he has less actual impact on the results of games than a lot of less eye-catching midfielders around. For me, a fit Emile Smith Rowe is a more effective attacking option for Arsenal than Odegaard. But I'm not an Arsenal fan, so I could definitely be missing something by not watching every game he plays.

For left back it's a bit difficult to judge since both players are asked to do very different things. You'd compare Zinchenko is more comparable to a Trent Alex since they are asked to do similar things on the pitch

people tend to forget the work Nunez puts in on the pitch. He is not useless when he isn't scoring and that's why he fits in the squad. Once he gets his aim right he'll be unstoppable.

@@atukyle6098well since everyone uses them let’s start with stats: - more goals - more assists - exact same shot accuracy - more goals per match - more shots - more shots on target - more big chances created - more crosses - less dispossessions And then the eye test, Nunez requires far more thought for a defender than Jesus does as he’s more dynamic and faster, is able to create his own chances as well as create chances for others. He’s better in the air. The only real thing that Jesus has over Nunez is technical ability and dribbling, which Nunez isn’t even bad at.

Goals are the only stat that nunez has been far better, but he also has the second highest xg underperformance in the league. You can't say nunez creates his own chances like Jesus doesn't, both players are better at creating their own chances than taking them. They have the exact same amount of key passes the difference is one has salah and jota finishing chances. Context is important. Jesus has also been one of the marquee players in the Champions League . Nunez might be better but he ain't clear

That was funny. Little Arsenal sure have some fine players but you've got to say they were right to mostly default to the Liverpool option. Where Nunez is concerned, you've got to remember 11 goals 11 assists in a team where Salah and Jota are massive scorers too (and then Nunez / Jota are among 4 players fighting for the minutes of 2, typically).

As a Liverpool fan, I think this team is correct. Curtis Jones could get in over Szobo or Odegaard tbh, it’s preference. Originally I was thinking it was harsh not having any Arsenal attackers but barring Saka (who plays the same position as Salah), none of the Arsenal attackers get in. Liverpool’s attack has outperformed their xG, Arsenal can’t find the back of the net so Jota and Nunez is the right shout in my opinion.

@@cisco5338 Jota is a good finisher but if you ask Liverpool fans none of them would rather him take Nuñez’s spot, when Jota doesn’t score he can be kinda invisible, the opposite is never true of Darwin. They do complement each other nicely, but Darwin makes for a better striker

As a Liverpool fan Curtis Jones has been our best and most consistent midfielder by far, putting Szoboszlai over Jones is completely clouded by the price tag and big signing tax. I love Szobo but for the last 2/3months he just hasn’t had a an outstanding game, started the season and on fire and I think he ran himself into the ground.

Think Odegaards lucky to be in there tbf, he was outstanding last season KDB levels almost, this season no chance. Goes to show though how well Arsenal have done to pick up as many points as they have despite not particularly playing as well as they did last season players not as in form and Arteta tryna force strange stuff, partey rb, dropping gabriel tryna make havertz fit etc. Fair play to em they have some resilience atleast. But yeah that teams about right tbf, Konate would be in with a shout if he played more, think quansahs played some etc not sure how many hes played not as often as Saliba for sure though? Boy France have some young CBs on their hands there.
