Truth be told, the beak on the side just adds to the charm of the game's style. Kinda like everyone's in a weird version of a costume, with the beak being on the nose. I don't know how to explain it. All I ask in the future is at least a budgie or kakapo follower. Just a little something for us parrot lovers.

@@caramelcopcatIt feels like the devs had 2 options to deal with the birds. Either work hard to make the beaks works or just removed them completely, So they chose neither and gone full blursed mode for ending up with this funnier result.

This opens up more questions. 1. Why a beak and a mouth simultaneously? 2. Why the Owl looks more like a parrot? (I'm guessing it's a Duolingo reference) 3. Why does it sound like she's on the verge of tears when mentioning the kiwi? 4. Casually forgets that ducks and chickens exist

I like to think that their beaks aren’t actually beaks, and are instead variants of the old plague doctor masks they wear on the off side of their face. So they have a beak-less normal mouth, (maybe as an evolutionary trait in this world?). And for either “Bird history” reasons or some other undisclosed purpose, they always wear a species-dependent mask with an actual beak on it. And just to make it a LITTLE bit more unsettling, any time the perspective shifts for us, they move the mask in response so we never actually SEE the entire thing.

I think what’s funny about these designs is that technically all you would have to do is erase the second eye and the mouth. Though use the ‘erased’ eye for like the angry expression. - But yeah. That would need slightly different animation. Probably got tricky with the randomized traits program. IDK I’m not a programmer.
