Thank you for the valuable lecture. I have a question. So in stage 6-7 of baldness, assuming there is a good place to collect hair, 8 grafts are needed? Can hair transplant clinics cheat, i.e. say that there will be 8,000 pieces of hair, but they will perform 6,000? Is there any way to protect yourself?

The board certified doctors are putting their entire practices at risk if they were to cheat a patient in anyway. They want to build strong relationships and get patient referrals as long as you choose a full time hair specialist I would highly doubt they would put their entire reputation at risk.

Thanks Steve. Just a quick question, I seem to have retrograde alopecia on my sides but the back of my hair is normal density. How much would this limit my potential grafts by? I’m on Dutasteride and my hairloss isn’t getting any worse for now thankfully, but I’d like to know what I have in “reserve” just in case I need a hair restoration procedure. Thanks for all you do for this community.

Hi there ! I hope you’re doing well! I suggest you need to be seen by a specialist. Donor density, hair caliper, the size of your head/donor zone all vary from patient to patient. These are things we will need to know and see to give you an accurate answer. I hope that helps! And thanks again for watching

@@jackcarver8234 Thanks, I’m glad progress is being made here. Thankfully I’m a Norwood 1.5 or so and my crown filled in from using Fin and Dut. My worry was for the future you know, I’m 30 now but in 20 years I could lose some ground.

Patients are so different, head shapes,sizes, skin color, hair color, that there is no one size fits all for hairlines. Just like “results vary from patient to patient” so does the shape and size of individual hairlines.
