I actually don't think i missed a pig at all over these 100 reloads. However, one must take into account finishing off shots and general hunt scenario's like snap shooting, thick scrub running targets etc.

You're an excellent example of what a man can do with basic equipment when he knows his rifle and how to operate the damn thing. There's plenty of men out there with the best equipment money can buy, but they can't hit a damn thing with it, especially on the move. A nice rifle, nice ammo, and a Burris scope is all you need if you know how to swing it. Bloody good shooting!
@HuntingwithStu2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate yes it is all about the shooter (male or female) having skill n confidence to take the shot. Having said that i only close the bolt on a target when I know that I have a very high chance of an outright kill otherwise i just watch it dart through the bush and not chase it with hopeful shots. I prefer to toast those pigs that got away back in camp.

Good shooting guys. Would there be any value in using a silencer? Do silencers decrease accuracy? Or are they illegal? Or would the ferals just scatter as soon as one goes down, regardless?
@HuntingwithStu2 жыл бұрын
I think a silencer on a low velocity rifle like a 44 mag would be perfect as the pigs often are too busy feeding to worry about the odd muffled shot. However, stupidly Australia have a ban on silencers. God knows why as New Zealand are ok with it. I think because silencers represent hitmen in Hollywood then no one is allowed just in case we want to do a hit on someone. Makes no sense at all. I understand 30 shot mags, semi auto etc but silencers? Anyway we just gotta conform.

Excellent shooting Sir. Please enlighten me. Can those carcases be used for anything or are they liable to be too "unclean"?

@@HuntingwithStu Thank you Stu. I had heard that most wild pig carcases were not recommended for human consumption, but I was not sure about the dogs. Keep up the good work.

Great to see a new video. Plenty of pigs and some of the country looks good. Who's property is it that you shoot on? What do you do for work? Hope you're well. Thanks mate

Thanks mate I'm an ex army bloke semi retired. I actually run kayak tours these days n hunt a few times a year. The property is a place called 'Nevaumind' if ya know what I mean.

Reading the title I was thinking this will be another of those impressive American hunters with repeating rifles on bipod and night vision gear whose vids are amazing. Instead I find it’s a fellow Aussie with a bolt action shooting off the shoulder in a wobbly kayak no less! This is on another level! Just out of interest, how many more do you think you’d get out of these mobs if you didn’t have to cycle the bolt?
