@@Dons98That's almost never how you get to the top or stay there. Fighters who get to the top and who stay there longest are mostly elite, all around, TACTICAL fighters. Those who swings for the fences, always going to KO or Sub people --- from Charles to Ilia --- almost never stay up there long. If you play hammer and nail games, as an approach to MMA, you aren't always gong to be the hammer. Ask Sergei, the Russian dude with Jone's reach and Ngannou's one-punch KO: if you go out of your way always looking for one-punch KO's, you shouldn't be surprised another equally big guy KO you first, with a punch of their own! People just don't understand how hard it is to overwhelm a natural 190lb 6'2" superb agile athlete like Leon. Those 80 - 90% power punches, and kicks, may not be hard enough to KO you immediately; but with his speed, agility, range, height.... it's enough to stunt you hard enough for you to respect him. Ask the 6'0" giant/muscled Usman or the vaunted D1 Colby. Shavkat is very good; he isn't finishing Leon within 3 rounds. He was stunted by a short, plodding Geof Neal more than a few times. And Neal was caught because his giant swings. Leon, again, does over extend himself for counter strikes.

I know Stipe is old and inactive etc etc and Jones is fighting him (and him only) because everyone considers that the only easy layup matchup he can book that will still look like a good achievement on paper, but I still favour Stipe to beat him.
