Regarding the pig part, I believe Ali deliberately picked the reason out of all, so that non-Muslims like me could logically understand why eating pork is not good for health.

Aki, the way you ask them shows that you are so observant and have done homework beforehand. I was impressed. Thank you so much for your interest in understanding Islam. And Ali has done a good job. For me, he explained quite good for a non-muslim to understand. Yes, we are no longer be bothered with all the restrictions once we understand the purpose and get used to them. We know that it is for our own good.

Great discussion. This is just my shallow understanding about the topic based on my experiences & learning all these years in Malaysia & I might be wrong & inaccurate but it's up to discussion. The main reason why Islam forbid eating pig was bcs it was written in Quran. Why it was forbid is up for us to find it. One of the reason is cleanliness bcs it will eat everything including its own feces. Even chicken or beef are prohibited if not slaughter in Islamic way. It also doesn't mean any chicken or beef can be slaughtered & eaten just like that. It includes many other factors. Does the animal healthy & mature enough? Is the knife sharp enough? Does you slaughter it in the name of God? Does the slaughter house clean? Did you clean the meat properly? Where did you get the animal? There are many things to consider if you dwell into it deeply. It's not just you slaughtered it & then it's halal to be eaten. It must be halal from taking care of it till before you cook it. That's how careful the true Islam way. It just very similar in how Japanese taking care of Kobe beef to be eaten. To pay respect to what we eat & be thankful to God for the gifs. On the 4 wives, Quran doesn't forbid nor encourage polygamy. It just say you can marry up to 4 but if you can't do justice marry only one. This is just my opinion but you also have to see the context when the verse was revealed. It was at the time when there was a war & many women lost their husband. The reason was to protect, help & care for all those women. I'm a man & not against polygamy but the way many men today use these excuse to marry more than one women is just not good for me. Some really do marry with pure intent but most of the time it just a desire. I hate it when people answered "bcs prophet does it & I'm only copying him" when those people can't even do justice to their wives. Is that the only answer they can give? I mean we're not prophet. We may strive to be as good as him but we also have to think about it. Is it within our capacity? Can we really do them justice? Marriage is not a game. It's a big responsibility & sacred. About LGBT, from my shallow understanding, it's not a sin if you have those desire but not act upon it. For example when you see money & want to steal it but decided not to. It's not a sin. That's why there's jihad in Islam. To strive against it. It's not our business if you do it privately but it's wrong when you do it publicly & force it upon others. Islam protect a society against any act that goes unnaturally bcs even sex is a sacred thing given by God & you do not tamper with it. We can't discriminate them but what wrong is still wrong. That's all I can say. If any of you still want more explanation please find an Islamic scholar that knows more.

@@akihibara6436 Here's another thought to put into perspective; Read a book too closely and you will end up not being able to see what's happening around you... Islam demands that you live a moderate lifestyle. Too much of anything (even good things) can lead to bad things happening. I'm not a holy man and I have sinned a few times myself numerous times in past as well. Those that claim that they never sinned (aside the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) is DEFINITELY lying. Too much faith can also be bad. I mean, I don't know if anyone realizes this, in Indonesia, there have been COUNTLESS people there that claim that they are "the next last prophet after Muhammad" or "a secret messenger from Allah" or something or another. When your faith is TOO strong, you tend to delude yourself in this line of thought; "I am a chosen one" fyi, there are specific magic spells (yes, in Islam, we consider magic exist, but we are forbidden to use them since it will forfeit our rights to enter heaven) that target those of higher faith even more easily than your average Ali or Ahmad.

I want to add this verse for the polygamy question And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, *then [marry only] one* or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice]. ( Quran 4:3) Islam neither encourage nor forbid polygamy but should be noted Quran is the only religious scripture that explicitly tell its believer to marry only one and put limit to polygamy.
@karo_carocarol
@karo_carocarol 4 жыл бұрын
yeah, in other words if you cannot do justice to the women if you want to marry more than one, it is not encouraged nor adored by Allah....but it is still allowed for polygamy [because it brings the benefit for the offspring], but still Allah loves the most to those who do justice [love and marry one woman].

@@akihibara6436 yes, for the Muslim that actually understand what polygamy means in Islam, are less likely to be into polygamy... because truthfully said, as human, it is hard to do justice and treat all equally. for example, if you marry 4 women, u cannot just buy one ring for a women. u need to buy all 4 rings instead. otherwise u being injustice to the other wives. even if u're ultra rich, u can't buy time. so u need to equally spend time with all the wives and the kids equally, also Islam not recommended the wives to stay under one roof. Means u have to have 4 houses, and u have to spend day for each houses. that's why, if u can't do all of that. don't even think to get more wives, better of with just one, u will get better life... less problem, less drama and everything LOL

Reading the comments I can’t help but sigh about the pork comments. First the dua lipa case, then that Korean artist nickname case. Sometimes I feel like all I read about Islam in Malaysia revolves only around babi, when there’s so many other nicer things to talk about. I think Ali did a great job educating non Muslims about Islam. He is not preaching to fellow Muslim brothers/sisters, but raising awareness to non Muslim people. And all they need to know is that Muslim people don’t eat pork and don’t drink alcohol, full stop. Now that they know that, they won’t serve their Muslim friends these food, and we’d be happy, since there is a 20% sst gov tax on pork products, it’s expensive lol. Alcohol too is expensive. Anyway, the most important thing is that non Muslim must understand that even beef, chicken etc (except fish) can be non halal, which he explained clearly in the video. I have good Muslim friends who I go out for meals with, but I always check with them if it’s ok to dine or take away at a selected restaurant even if it’s only serving chicken since I know that chicken can be non halal too, so that point is very very important for non Muslims to understand. If only other points pointed out by Ali and Ai were enforced as strict as the pork issue, perhaps my divorced friends would have an easier life. Not only 2 of my friends divorced their husbands because they caught their husband cheating, but their now ex husband is not even paying child support. I’m sure many of us know at least one person in our lives that is in this predicament, and we all know it’s tough as hell being a single mother, raising 2-3 kids. Edit: They should have pointed out that amphibians is not halal too though. I didn’t know this either until my Muslim friends told me many years back. Also, if they add sake in the food, then it’s not halal, even if they light fire to burn out the alcohol. Some non Muslim people may have the misconception that if the alcohol is burnt out, it’s ok.

Basically their explanation on the given questions are best, kudos to them. However, there are some points that they've missed for me. For example, the polygamy part, it is actually permissible one of the reason is to help the widows and their children because basically they have lost the man who have been feeding them (in Islam, men are responsible to take care of wife and the children financially), and polygamy is not a privilege but a burden responsibility to men. The other regarding LGBT, because Aki raised a question that is actually have the solution. In Islamic legislative system, there are cases when an individual born with two reproductive organs. For this individual, he/she is given the choice of gender with condition which organ is more dominant for him/her. Other than that, the prohibition is to protect the mankind for the longer term, because if everyone choose ro marry with same sex, then the number of birth will be decreasing drastically. In today's context, this will affect the livehood of the elders because there is no young generation that will generate pensions for them. Also, I think that when they both mentioned about fasting in Ramadhan is to help us understand the feeling of the poors, they forgot to mention that Muslims also required to pay a type of alms-giving in Ramadhan called zakat fitrah. The money collected from them will be distributed to the poors. Just two cents from me.

As a half Japanese-Malaysian Muslim, I really admire these two young people who know their religion well at their age, and how to explain the points to others. 16:12 About the person who sleeps all the day when fasting, his is considered the same as the one who fasts and awakes, as long as he doesn't stuff his mouth with anything. That's the hukum for them we were thought in our school.

to be frank, asking for the consent of the first wife if im not mistaken is a rule imposed by malaysia's islamic authority. it's not a common rule in other parts of the world. but in the end, it comes back to responsibility. IF one can manage to marry more than one, then he is free to do it up to 4. Only IF he can. that's a big IF. Truthfully, not many can. It's hard. I'm dealing w one and i can only imagine the baggage that comes w it times 2 or 3 or 4.

@@redberryk9911 yes, which is why I say IF he can. And it's hard. just focusing on the kids and each wife is such a big ask. However, there are reasons why polygamy is allowed. For instance, in post-war times. people need to rebuild or sustain. One example is if somebody's husband was killed in action or unfortunately killed eventhough he is a bystander, and he is the provider of his family with kids, his life meant the world to his family. Once he's gone, the family might need financial and/or morale support. another example is take prince and princesses gets married when they from 2 different country eventhough they don't necessarily love one another and might have someone else in their heart, why it was done might have been only to strengthen the bonds of 2 nations etc. This is an example how marriage is not all the time entirely about love. It's sometimes might be about something else. Therefore why this islamic ruling on polygamy is applicable in various circumstances. BUT, provided if the guy CAN provide...
