Behind the cinematic boundary between science and science fiction is a special effects team that makes the technology you see in Marvel films feel like it’s right on the real-life technological cusp.
From “Iron Man” to “Black Panther,” this VFX team has worked tirelessly, for more than a decade, researching and designing the technology for the characters featured in various Marvel films.
The goal? Cutting edge futuristic tech that draws the viewer in and feels real even if it isn’t.
In “Black Panther,” the fictional metal vibranium is a wonder material of epic proportions.
Vibranium can store and release large amounts of kinetic energy - it’s laced in clothing and powers sonic arm cannons. While vibranium doesn’t actually exist, the inspiration for its design came straight from real scientific labs that are exploring acoustic levitation, ferrofluids, and cymatics.
To effectively visualize vibranium, the team poured over scientific papers and cutting edge research, like this acoustic levitation experiment from the University of Tokyo.
Learn more about how the team pushes the boundaries of science fiction in feature films and how it impacts real-world science on this episode of Focal Point.

Black Panther: Wakanda Technology Design
www.experienceperception.com/...
“In June of 2016, the team at Perception consulted with Marvel Studios to explore the different ways technology could be envisioned and impact the mythological world of Wakanda. A weeks worth of consultation expanded into 18 months of conceptualizing technological paradigms, interface design, animation, vfx, and an elaborate title sequence.”
How Marvel’s Go-To Team Created The Futuristic Tech Of “Black Panther”
www.fastcompany.com/40518344/...
“The team at Perception is meticulous about grounding what they conceptualize for film in nascent technology that actually exists, which made building Black Panther‘s Wakanda-the most technologically advanced country in the world-particularly challenging.”
Watch the intricate dance of objects levitated by sound
www.theverge.com/2014/1/2/526...
“The roughly millimeter-sized balls that perform the most impressive stunts are composed of polystyrene, but the group also tested screws, matchsticks, and other objects - other researchers have successfully levitated ants and even small fish. While the sound must be extremely intense, its high frequency makes it inaudible to human ears, and levitation can open up new ways for us to manipulate objects.”

Very impractical and non revolutionary ideas and execution due to too much CGI, and hardenly any practical effects. That's why you get ideas like, sand being used instead of holograms. An idea that practically makes no sense, and doesnt really make any sense in the future. Holograms would make sense. Regardless, if you actually made the sand particles float using acoustics, and formed the patterns for the movie, that would of been 10000% more realistic than the CGI mess we end up with.

God I love the effort that goes into the MCU. From Kevin Feige's planning, to RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth, Samuel L Jackson's acting, to the Russos and Taika to James Gunn directing, all to way to the CGI special effects team, and then you have these guys, who make sure everything is as scientifically plausible and looks as cool as possible. No wonder all 23 movies so far kick ass. SO good!

Perfect example of this process in action is the alcubierre drive. Miguel alcubierre grew up watching star trek and was inspired by the "Warp Drive" the word Warp, being the important term used. So he took einstein's field equations and basically worked them in reverse to find out his idea wasnt not only allowable according to current understanding, but could potentially be a possibility though there are still many hurdles to jump before this can happen.
@ronnyb5890
@ronnyb5890 4 жыл бұрын
for the moment,we lack the immense power needed to realise this feat,but it will surely be possible in the far,or near future,once we can create stable energy from nuclear fusion,or even with anti-matter
@matts9371
@matts9371 4 жыл бұрын
@@ronnyb5890 yes, energy quantity is a huge problem, also some of the updated mathematics also require the use of exotic negative energy. Unfortunately we still have no way to currently produce that type of energy. Although antimatter reactors are still not possible to create. Would be cool though. Huge issue is AM containment. We cant even take a few atoms of AM and put it in a container to cross a street with before the AM annihilates itself with the surface of the containment system. The plus side is that alcubierre first said the energy required to make the drive function would theoretically require the energy equivalent of the mass of our universe. Now it's far less than the Energy mass equivalent of less than a single planet like venus. More breakthroughs are definitely required in order to increase the efficiency of the system.

Why no one travel back 2 or 3 days and get Nat and tony and bring them to the main MCU time? I mean before Cap fix all the time line. Tell tony and Nat that they already won and before Cap return the stone, they need to go to the main time SINCE THEIR TIME is about to disappear / erase once Cap return all the stone.
