The problem with these fries is that you have T-minus 5 minutes to eat them before they suck. In-N-Out is obviously better in every single function. Most importantly, their fries stay crispy for a very long time because they're not processed. You can go there and watch them cut whole potatoes in your face. I'm lucky to be in San Diego, where In-N-Out is an option, so I understand that not everyone can enjoy the amazingness of In-N-Out.

Asking for no salt fries is a dick move because that means we have to thoroughly clean the fry area so there's no salt on it just so you can have fresh fries that you are going to add salt to anyway. If you want fresh fries, just ask for them. We will gladly put a fresh basket of fries down versus having to clean the whole fry area. Just an fyi.

One time years ago some cashier at the DT window all rudely asked me “why you want no salt? Just ask for fresh fries and you can wait.” I said don’t assume. I like no salt on my fries because it reminds me of how I ate fries as a really young kid as that’s how my mom got them for us so I grew up that way it brings me back to being a kid. And that’s a legit truth. Honestly, the slightest salt granules get in there and for me….it’s PERFECT even when they don’t clean the area. Taste thing for me honestly. When I go with my kids if I’m not eating, I order regular fries.

I've never had the pleasure of tasting Macca's from the 60's as I was only norn mid 60's. As a English kid growing up in the Us, Macca's was a treat. Maybe it's just me but their food back in the 70's was far superior to what it is now, Back then a double cheeseburger was a wonderful thing. I remember growing up and taking my report card in to get a free meal. Macca's these days have just become this machine that churns out stuff. About the only thing I rate on their menu is the sausage and egg mc muffin. Everything else is pants. Last time I went there, I decided to order a big mac as I hadn't had one in ages. I picked it up at the drive through and then drove up to my mums. I ate me chips which were a bit meh and then opened the box. I end up with everything assembled on the bottom bun and the nowt between the middle and top bun.

Salt can affect an existing condition but does not have the negative health issues we have been told all these years. Its prob because its also not great for you.. Since 1/3 of the salt cystal is aluminum salt and another 1/3 is sugar. Its to make it taste really good so you will keep coming back and craving more.. but In & Out fries are trash... I always get them extra well and then they're barely not soggy anymore, still not as good as McD fries.

@@geoolympics Micky D uses beef flavored canola oil for their fries. In and out uses sunflower oil. Agree there is a difference in taste.

@@sauronthegreat5799 it's not just the oil... In & Out fries, if I order them as it is, feels like it's soggy and was just washed or something. Definitely NOT fried to perfection.

I absolutely love McDonald's fries when they're cooked right. I live in the Chicago Suburbs, but to be honest, McDonald's fries have become extremely inconsistent over the years. They could be made perfect or cold and soggy. I feel like Wendy's and Burger King fries have been way mare consistent which is sad to say.

I must say, the Mc fries are the best, no other fastfood chain does have the same nice fries McDonalds have. I also like the normal classic old school McChicken, in my opinion still the best :)

...Um McDonalds wasn't founded until 1955, the original earlier McDonald's brother's restaurants in California didn't use frozen. The first "official" McD's from 1955 used fresh potatoes that they cut and blanched themselves on site.

Sadly, my favorite dip for fries, onion rings, or chicken nuggets is not available at Micky Dee's. It's a Burger King dipping sauce called "Zesty." It's a mayo, ketchup, and horseradish based sauce. Another killer-good way to have Micky Dee's fries is to ask for them with no salt, and then add Zatarain's Blackened Seasoning for salt, spices, and heat of the cayenne type. DAMN THAT'S GOOD!

Sometime in the early 1970's Maccas arrived in Brisbane Australia where I lived. There was a big fuss about it on TV and advertising so a couple of mates and myself went to an outlet in Mt Gravatt and ordered fries a hamburger and a thick shake. We were accustomed to buying these products from corner shops and other such places. The first mate took a suck on his thickshake, which of course was nothing more than soft serve icecream. We were used to REAL thickshakes and his immediately was hurled in the bin. More dissatisfaction was encountered when we opened the foam containers with the so called hamburger in it. From memory none of us got through eating all of the stuff and it was mostly thrown away. We were used to much better but nowadays nearly everyone has been indoctrinated by advertising, especially children. It's a ad indictment on society.

Ohio, my local McDonalds has put so much salt on the fries it almost burns your mouth. We have literally taken the fries out of the container and rolled them on two connected paper towels and then ate them. Plus, the last two times I ordered a Big Mac through the drive through and got home they had NO Big Mac sauce at all on them. I put tartar sauce on them and a slice of sweet vidalia onion.
