Right, lets be clear here, i'm noticing a lot of comments with people all saying, "MA2 already boosted, why do you even need this etc". Like one person said, if you live in an urban area, this item dramatically improves your signal strength, its not all about range, but yes it also increases that. I purchased and installed this on my MA2 and I saw an increase in range from around 2500M to 5400M and that is flying within the centre of a city. This was the main reason I purchased this, not just for better range, but for overall a better transmission and the drone not losing signal. If you live somewhere in America with massive open fields and you don't have a population of 1million+ nearby and like 3 houses around you like I always seem to see in range test videos, then don't buy this. If you want better signal strength and you live in a heavily urban area then I recommend this item very much so. You could say, why buy a Ferrari as you can't drive at its full speed legally on the public road? I made another comment on this video re the installation, it can be quite tricky and I don't feel the video is explained well at points, with the booster attached, it also makes your controller quite heavy and more to carry around and yes, there is a risk of damaging the controller. I have no background in engineering and have no experience in doing anything like this and I managed to install this although you can make a mess of the plastic as you try to separate the two controller panel apart (this alone took me around an hour as they are stuck solid). I purchased a second hand controller off eBay and easily linked this to my drone and I use when i'm flying in less congested areas so this is always an option to you.

Rather than showing people how to install it how about showing people tests proving it even works.

Is it overpriced? Yeah but if you have the money to burn, buy it because it does work and increases your signal in a subtle but noticeable way, especially if you’re in areas where there’s a lot of interference. All the negative responses here are mostly from people who don’t have the product and are critical of it most likely because they can’t afford it and want it.

The video is explained very well up to the point of the silver bracket. At 9:04 a screw is being put into the top to hold the silver bracket. Now, there are only two screw holes here. I don't see how you can use one of the holes to hold the bracket in place, when both holes will be required later on to actually affix the black antenna mount to the silver bracket through the controller to secure it. Also, at the end of the video, it shows two screws being placed into the bracket and into the controller. The controller doesnt have any screw holes to be screwed into here so I am unsure how he is securing this. You can see this if you pause at 12:16 then at 12:56 he starts to put screws here. Also there is no instruction on which screws to use at all as various sizes are included.

As a Drone Builder I can appreciate the Modification, meantime I just paid for DJI Refresh, and Totally satisfied with Mavic Air 2 Urban Range...enjoyed watching and I'll.pass

What brought me to this teardown video was locating that damn annoying speaker! It's the little cylinder with the hole in it at the lower bottom of the case when the case is first pulled apart. Right underneath the front edge! I plan on muting mine by drilling a small hole through the top of the case in the very center, just below the green battery lights, in the perfect spot, and applying pressure to the exposed silver in the center of the top of the speaker with a broken off Q tip. Worked on the Mavic 2, once the speaker was located inside! Volume control can then be achieved by varying the pressure, turning the heart attack beeping into the mewing of a kitten, at below 20% remaining battery! 👍

The control screw on the Mavic Air 2, is different from the control on the Mini 2, because the Philips key that came in the Alientech kit does not fit the Mini 2, please check if I am mistaken! Thanks

Installed today. A massive massive nightmare! But got it done in the end. Screws are very soft so be careful not to round them. Controller is really hard to seperate. Damage will be done. Metal bracket is hard to screw in place, must use the blunt ended screws. Took 2 to 3 hours but all done now. Range in urban is much better. I'll test roral tomorrow

I could just get an extra remote (there's already plenty of the same used out there) and do this mod, that way I won't have to worry about voiding my warranty. 12:53 drilling of holes into the controller.. this scene was removed for some reason? you can see the controller plastic debris around the mat. and throughout the video where the back of the controller is visible, there are no holes for these 2 screws.

Once you have to two halves started apart use plastic pry tools to separate the halfs! Be careful routing the coax! Ensure it does not get pinched! Use the twizers after you put parts together and ensure they are loose with slack then tighten the screws. I routed mine slightly different than the video shows to help ensure the didn't get pinched because they way in the video they seemed to be falling on the blue and steel strip on the silver plate. It might be fine that way but I didn't like it. This tiny coax is delicate! Also the fine thread screws go into the silver metal plate. The sheet metal screws with the sharp tip I think go into the cover into the remote. I guess you have to use force to screw them in as the is no holes there. I'm checking on that to be sure.

What is it all for. I am flying 4,5 miles, the battery is no longer enough. To fly 13-14m you need a double battery. It would be nice to fly 2 - 3m up, in the sky, the distance is not so interesting.

It's useless to upgrade to such...making remote less portable and heavy...on paper ioccusync gives 10km but it roughly gives 4km in urban...which is enough as drone battery won't lasts..

You may want to relabel this video because the mavic 3 and air 2s controllers are not the same. The top doesn't have that break or notch anymore on the injection molds. So this can only be done on the mavic air 2s.. been telling you guys to get back to me and wrote tons of emails.. guess your still partying the Chinese new year

No one needs this thing. It is illegal to fly your drone at the distances people are buying this antenna for. You have to be able to see your drone unaided the whole time it's flying or the FAA can and will fine you big time. If you upload that video online and they see it and yes they are watching youtube and other platforms and fining people, just check the youtube videos talking about it. Just saying be careful.
