I see people making less than we was making in the 70's 80's I started right when they stop sewing the seams together lol man them seams looked great and held up , lol we been using a carpet stretcher ever since we started I guess that's why I still can water ski walk etc I see people doing less than 3 years start with a knee kicker and can walk around now always getting fluid drained from their knees crazy

And they still call us I rather keep my prices up and miss a lot of them jobs most people are doing lol that's a good thing about when you take pride in every job you do you can make a lit more and people don't mind what you make I know people out here doing for half of what we was getting in the 70's the don't even own a carpet stretcher half ass kick it in and make seams all messed up

I guess it's location, location, location, I wouldn't do Floor's well probably nowhere else than the spot been in the whole 38 plus year's I'm glad I just pi k what I want to do now of day's I feel sorry for installers that's starting out and especially the places where they working from the Carolina's top paying and best working conditions than anywhere else

If you're running your own show, you can pretty much charge whatever you want.. like you said some people might not want to pay.. some will.. and if you have your own clients and they trust you.. most won't even check prices elsewhere.. Selling your own jobs easy $6-10 SY for carpet installation.. removal $2-4.. There isn't 1 shoe that fits all sizes.. carpet prices shouldn't be either.. Type of carpet, weight, layout.. all of which we incorporate into our prices.. for example.. the heavier the carpet.. the higher the installation rate.. The possibilities are endless.. Create your own price sheet.. hand it out to your clients... and you'll find the clients to fit your needs. 💯 Keep up the vids and business advice!

The numbers I shared in this are gross to the main installer. If you roll solo the only other expenses would be supplies (seam tape, blades…) But if there is help on the job with the scenario shared in this they would be paid out of those numbers as well I’ll actually drop a video sharing how I pay my team as well

I’ll do a follow up on this as well! Lots of word of mouth but testing a lotta new marketing strategies at the moment. I share what I’m up to and the results (some good and some all bad lol)
