Yup... always want to keep a step ahead of those lil buggers! When I had horses we tried to rotate our pasture area. There are lots of different approaches. Thanks for sharing your knowledge... Good farm management does not happen by accident.

I'm glad to see that you soak pellets. I soak mine to the point of being soupy. Reason being is that those pellets absorb the moisture in the animal's body expand 3 times their unsoaked size. The expansion can easily create a blockage in the intestine, especially for animals that have lost teeth and cannot masticate at full capacity. If you get a blockage, it becomes very hard. You'll be hard pressed to get the blockage moved, and you lose your beloved animal and/or spend a fortune on colic surgery. Don't let animals or humans breathe DE, either. It's bad on the lungs.

This is off point but I'd love to see an update about all the animals on the homestead. I saw Neil not too long ago but am missing the likes of Mario, Fifi and Murphy. Hope they are still doing well.

I just got a new horse and she currently doesn’t eat my grain. I don’t want to change her diet right away but she is full of worms. Is there a way to worm her with DE without putting it in grain?

Pellets for my horses??? NEVER !!! Only fresh quality hay and oats PLUS a special oil and “Red Cal” from Dr Dan Moore, the Natural Vet... because I actually love and care about my equine family.

Yes. Everyone who feeds any kind of pellets to their horses doesn’t care about them. Congratulations for being better than everyone else!!

@@leilae5076 That's such a ridiculous blanket statement to make. We feed our horses pony nuts and conditioning cubes along with chaff, Biotin, turmeric, seaweed, apples and carrots etc. and sugar beet as well in winter. They eat haylage all year round to supplement the limited grass in their turnout paddocks. There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeding horses pellets, as long as they are sufficiently wetted. Our horses are well cared for and dearly loved, so for you to say that feeding pellets to horses means you don't care about them is complete CRAP!!!
