1994 F150 4x4 - How much did it cost to bring my truck to where it is now?
A few years ago this 1994 Ford F150 didn't look so good. She was getting old but not tired. Instead of buying a new truck, I put some money into her and fixed her up.
Best damn truck I could have ever asked for.

You did an amazing job restoring your truck. I haven't seen what it looked like before but I have a 1992 4x4 XLT which has all the same rust spots that you mentioned on yours. You have inspired me to start fixing it up. It runs great but it isn't the prettiest one on the street. Thank you for uploading this video and looking forward from the beginning and watching the entire process.

Thomas Tommy Exactly man modern vehicles in general are not only overpriced but they look hideous and ugly, so complicated to work on, made out of plastic, and lack soul and character as well.

Love what you've done with the restoration!! . I drive a 95' calypso green extended cab 6'er. Your videos are rather inspirational. I'm lamenting the tear down from the underside-up in order to find an engine oil drip somewhere around the main bearing ( 1qt every two months or so( enough to leave an embarrassing blemish on driveways), along with some electrical issues (turn signal ground issues? power window p/s won't go down). She has 175k mi of west coast Canadian history, needless to say there is relatively little rust or corrosion damage. Anyway, I'm very impressed with your work.keep it up!!! Magnus,

Thanks! Really appreciate it! Wouldnt be surprised if your oil leak is from the rear main seal. (these trucks are 20+ years old no matter how you look at it) but the rear main seal is a pretty common place for a leak. Not really a lot to worry about unless it is leaking a LOT. A qt every couple months.. thats not horrible, but if you are leaving oil everywhere you park.... on the window issue, is the motor spinning in the door but the window wont go down? Or you try to put it down and there is just nothing there?

I loved my OBS Ford F350 dually powerstroke with the five speed. It came with a few issues like the transmission had some slop in it and some bushings took care of it, the steering column bearings were so far gone that as luck would have it, I found one for a hundred that was a duplicate if mine with the very same controls.. made me so happy and so easy to change out... one of the very easiest ones I've repaired as I'm seventy three and a cripple. Mine was a factory flatbed, aluminum with the tool boxes and other features. I am mentioning all of this because my brothers was the regular cab and mine was the quad cab with a visor over the windshield. I didn't see it in your brochure so not positive its factory now. One thing for sure, it came from the dealer with it on the rig and boy howdy.. really dressed it up. Alcoa aluminum rims that were sixteen inch with the 245 X 16 by 7" wide rim.... that was really a nice fit. All in all, at two hundred seventy thousand and still like new inside. It does have the "Pleather interior". Bucket seats and console. Its still factory paint and has absolutely zero rust on it yet its a work truck. It has escaped all of the usual dents or rust somehow here in alaska. If I were to customize it, the interior would be the 2010 King Ranch or the Harley Davidson interiors design with cameras... it does present some challenge to get into a parking space at times

I recently bought a 93 F150 Xlt long bed with low mileage. Through selling some things, doing odd jobs, and working, I've begun to make her the truck I've always wanted. It has an aftermarket fuel system, cold air intake (with a custom made airbox to prevent from mud), cab lights, cb radio, new toolbox, and a new sound system. Buy selling old stuff, the only money I've put into it from working is about $100. I plan within the next 2 month to do a 6" suspension lift, larger wheels and tires, a black widow muffler, a new set of headers, and a headache rack. All said and done, I priced it out to where my grand total should be about $4,500-5,000 (including purchase price of the truck). I can't wait to have her all said and done. Keep making awesome videos!

Best case scenario on the window fix! i could hear the motor "click" inside the door when i pushed the UP button but nothing happened on the DOWN button. turns out to be a dirty switch (years of rain drops on it?). Simple disassembly 101. Those little jobs are fun. Now i'm attempting to sort out my next electrical issue. Spooky wiring. Headlight-switch position/hazard lights/turn signals. it's consistent. could it be as simple as a common ground location that's corroded or ???. i have no idea how much the previous owner was rooting around behind dash. I swapped the multi function switch, to no avail. ughhh

This is a great truck but 10k just in parts without any additional power upgrades seems like a lot of money to throw at a half ton. I won’t finish mine to this level but I bought a 96 4x4 f150 with 150k long bed for 600 bucks. I’ve got 900 bucks in brake lines, coil spring mounts with front leveling kit, rr shackle mount and hanger, glass pack muffler and custom tailpipe, this includes paint for the frame as well. I still have to do four patch areas, oil pan alignment, tires and paint. At most I think I’d have at most 3500 total in it to do a similar job with similar resale value so I still am a little shocked at 10k but it is a great looking nearly new truck at probably a quarter the price of a new 5.0 4x4.

I have the same truck and have replaced the clockspring and had the cruise control speed switch on the master cyl. recall done and replaced and cruise control still does not work :( any suggestions
@TheFoxShop
@TheFoxShop 7 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm.....not at the moment. I thought the clock spring would have fixed the cruise. Mine has been like that for probably 15 years. One of those things I'm just not that concerned with but recently have been thinking about looking into and fixing. Maybe I will do a video on this in the not too distant future.

Love what you have done on truck. I think I've seen about all your videos. I've got a 95 f150 4x4 and was wondering if you could tell me the wheel size and offset you used. Looking for some new wheels for my ride. Thx man

Don't remember the offset of the top of my head... If you go to my newest videos, they are linked in the description I believe.

I've been wondering how I can fix my front bumper from sagging. It doesn't sit flush with the rest of the truck. Do you have any advice?
@TheFoxShop
@TheFoxShop 7 жыл бұрын
Just loosen the 4 big nuts up in front... you can get to them pretty easy, just get under the front of the truck and you will see what I'm talking about. Loosen those and you should be able to move it around somewhat. There is only so much adjustment available. Maybe something got bent at some point?

Nice truck, couldn't agree more with you on tires and wheels Trucks look so much better with smaller wheels gives you a nice tire sidewall . Why people put 22 or 24 inch wheels on their truck beyond me with only around a 55 or 60 inch side wall ratio but each their own . I just recently did a 2 1/4 inch leveling kit went with Bilstein shocks all the way around ride is AMAZING didn't want to go with strut spacers glad I went the Bilstein route . I kept my 17 inch diameter wheel did go with raceline wheels 17x9 renegades and went with duratrac 315-70r17 tires love the duratrac wen I bought my 13 F150 NEW I had put 285-70r17 on it . Have to say my new set up transformed my 13 F150 into a beautiful piece of art my opinion . I do have a question for you why didn't you do a spray in bedliner think I know what you will say and I would probably agree with you.

I wanted to ask you if you replaced the front bumper. Mine is rusting from the inside out through the chrome plating. I wanted to replace it, not sure if I can get an OEM bumper but I did find a few aftermarket ones. Problem is I just don't know about about the quality. Guage of the steel, fit & finish etc. Could you recommend something. Thanks much! Love your videos!!!
@TheFoxShop

Mine is the original bumper that came on the truck. Could probably find a good one at a salvage yard with a little looking. Other than that there are lots of aftermarket bumpers, or can even fit on a newer model Ford truck bumper. They actually look pretty good. Move bumpers, you weld them together yourself.. also Absalutediesel Performance Products has a nice front and rear bumper. You can find those in my Facebook Group OBS Revolution.
