TBH, when the interior is finished, that looks like a quarter million dollar truck to me. I was very surprised at the low valuation. A crane company near me spent over 150k (UK Pounds) just to have a six axle mobile tower crane painted in their company colours.

I am doing my truck, an 84' International 9670 myself, but can't do it all yourself so, I have $8K in shop work so far. I have a estimated total of $20k into it now, and that includes the purchase price and having it moved from where I got it to where I live. By the time I am done, I will have $30K into it and that is not touching the interior much or repainting the truck. I also do not plan to stretch the frame or do anything elaberate. Just putting it back together and making it road ready. Lucky for me, the engine is good to go and so is the rest of the drive train, with new suspension and brakes. All lines, fuel and air, will be replaced as well as coolant. Your truck is top notch and is worth way more than $95K!

Bought a big shack Western Star. Air ride cab and sleeper to replace the cab over. Carried on with my run from Edmonton To Whitehorse. I seen my old cabover from time to time. Pulling a crude oil tanker in Northern Alberta. On occasion talked to the driver on the CB. He loved the cab over. Had only had had minor problems till that date.. That made me feel happy.

Man, you killed this video, I couldn't take my eyes off it, what an awesome build, definitely didn't care for the rap, but the color was so beautiful, I'm in the process of buying a 42 running Kenworth, for $2000.00, but in need of some serious extensive cleaning, & sanding, & painting, can't wait to get started on it, the cool thing about the sale, is, the guy I'm buying it from is a licensed retired diesel mechanic, & welder, super cool dude, very laid back guy with a personality of an old hippy, & said not to worry, if ever I have a problem I can go to him, & he'll be happy to help me with the truck to keep it on the road, so yeah, I feel your drive to restore something so cool, & the guys so cool he's like don't worry about paying him in full, we'll just do payments on it if I want, so it's not a burden on my pocket, I'm like man I just love this guy, & he's got a line on tires that are like new for about $100.00 each, I was like man, this deal just keeps getting better and better the more I talk to him, apparently this guy took to me as well, he initially told me he would take $3500.00 for it, & the more I talked to him, the more we clicked, & then he says, ya know what, just give me $2000.00 & he'll be tickled pink to sell it to me, said he's been offered way over $5000.00, but wasn't sure if he wanted to sell it then, but i guess he seen how excited I was about owning it, he agreed to sell it to me, i felt like a kid in a candy store, & he seen how stoked i was to maybe owning it he said it was time to sell it, & that he wanted it to go to someone he knew that was going to restore it to it original glory, i couldn't thank him enough

That's amazing how through your driving test is, in the U.S. a company instructor can give you the driving test and you just take a written test at the DMV. Of course the company won't let you fail, as they are hurting for drivers, so quality here is not so great. I love your trucks, I drove back in the 70's, I always dreamed about having an extended cab KW like yours, never happened, but I did drive the regular cab version, I loved it. Good video, and good luck.

The truck is not just a truck, it's a drivable work of art, and love and attention to detail on it, makes it even more rare, I think once the interior is done, and the rest of the wrap is completed it should be worth between 200-300 thousand Canadian dollars, but being from the UK and not Canada or even the USA, I am unsure of it's true value, that being said it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, and being a work of art, a big company would pay a lot more, to add their signage to it and use it for advertising alone, Like V&R has already done, but if a transport/warehouse company had it, and used it on the road, at truck shows etc, would make a massive difference to the stand.

Thank you Rich for another amazing build and video. Your story on obtaining your truck driving (AZ) license is interesting. I obtained my licence in the mid 1970's, at that time all you needed was a "chauffeur" licence. Later it was converted to a AZ without doing anything other than my boss signing a few pieces of paper. I put myself through university by driving a truck in the summer and going to school from fall to spring. Much has changed since then. I kept up my licence for the past 47+ years and let it go this year, cuz at 67 I have no intent on driving a transport truck, and the gov't insist on having a medical done at my expense each year. It was hard to give it up, but I now have other stuff to worry about. Once again, good job Rich!

I really enjoyed watching the Kenworth K100 Restoration video, it's my first video from your channel [it came up on my suggestions feed]. I am a semi-retired 🤭 Electronics Repair Technician... look for and replace any "quick connector" connections! Replace with soldered connections or Molex connectors. Where possible always use 'self-adhesive' shrink wrap to cover all connections. Stay away from all wire t hff at is smaller than 14 AWG [smaller in diameter], you will save money but cost yourself time and more money replacing it later. When in doubt, replace the entire wire and connectors. Good luck to you in your progress on this iconic American Tractor/Trailer. Greetings from Michigan. John

Your Kenworth is a beauty! I don't know anything about over-the-road trucks but you folks have done a fabulous job putting your truck together in my opinion. Congrats on your partnership with V & R Recycling! It sounds as though it will be a "win/win" situation for you both. Keep on truckin!

Just did a "course" (in Germany) to get my papers to legally transport goods after a 12 year break from driving. There were 2 requirements, be present and don't sleep 🤣 It was only 450 Euros so I'm not complaining here. Got a new driving job and starting in a few weeks ! Keep up the good work Rich and the rest of the team ! Cheers, Ard

That’s interesting about the license course you have to do. Here in Australia, you hop in a truck with a road ranger gearbox for a day and if you pass, you get your license. Awesome build mate!

That's not too bad really. In Australian dollars it would be a bargain. Watching Twin Sticks I'm always amazed at how little trucks are worth in Canada. 5 years ago you'd get a half clapped out Kenworth for $70,000 but these days you won't get anything reliable for under $100,000

Probably because of the salt, that just rusts vehicles out and that way they lose value quick. Value in a truck is the amount of work that it can do now and in future.

Like another guy said, road salt and other chemicals used to treat roads in the winter really kill vehicles quickly in Canada and northern states of the US. You’d be hard pressed to find a vehicle more than 10 years old that doesn’t have some sort of rust issue. Unless it’s been extremely well cared for and not ran during winter months.
