True when you get a good one they are really a blessing. But there are those who are ungrateful, However much you treat them like family, they just do there nonsense.

good convo ladies! people forget that domestic workers are categorised as workers and protected by labour protections which includes things like minimum wage (KES 11,000), days off, health and safety, taking grievances to court, etc . ni vile tu women who do this work are not aware these are their rights. and there are people who try to categorise their workers as family so they can freely exploit them. i do think we have a long way to go, so many domestic workers are mistreated by their employers sadly

Yay!! My fave two!!! Haki nimewangoja...you both a stunning!! You have said it Mo! I have heard wonderful things about Milly Chebby she is a wonderful soul..Hata wewe Mo you are a gem. Allow me to make a small comment...I feel like nannies in Kenya do more than what the actual job description is (and most do not even have a job description)...I think that is what triggers me...For me my nannies just watch the baby, give the baby food, do the baby's laundry yaani all-matters baby, then I have my house manager who now handles the housework, including groceries and other jobs on her/his contract. Also they have health insurance (I pay for them a private cover). And I am not rich by all means.

People in Kenya still complain, huku majuu you are on your own, house chores, work, baby sometimes school on top, and you still want to work on your body(gym), sleepingin is a luxury I gave up long ago, baby decides to wake up at 5 you are up too hata kama ulilala 3,social life pia tunaonea kwa view sasa ghai I wish I could afford even a baby sitter for an hour for a week

I really don't miss the nanny drama I experienced in Kenya. I don't believe that I am able to work and raise my babies and homeschool as well as do all other house chores without a nanny.I have trained my 10yo and 6yo to be independent like wake up,do morning routine and get ready for classes while I tend to my infant.Thank God for the washers n dryer and the fact that I carry my kids whenever I go.We work different shifts so there is always an adult in the house with them at all times.Having a patner who doesn't mind helping around makes all the difference. There is the option of taking baby to a cucu or daycare or hiring one which is too expensive and the fact that baby came with corona We don't want to leave him with other people.I am grateful that I am able to watch my kids grow and note every single change or milestone they gain sio kuambiwo btw baby started smiling today.....I either witness it or the dad does.

My experience is different, I got one when I was 7months pregnant, she left a few days after I gave birth , then I got another one and left a day before my maternity leave ended, I had another one who came and said the baby was too small , by the time my baby turned 6 months I had employed 5 of them and that how I quit my job to take care of my baby she's now 4 and the other one is 1 and half , let me bring them up until they know what right and wrong them my career will follow. I just bought a online writing account and that what I do , yes...

I have 3 kids 6, 5,2 but I don't trust anyone around my beautiful children i decided I am going to raise my kids cause its my responsibility that God gave me. I don't have a strong relationship with my mum cause I was raise by a nanny am kikuyu and I don't know how to speak my own language cause I was raised by a jaluo lady who was very nice to me and my sister's .And again I have a hubby and I don't feel comfortable the nanny cooking for him. So I decided to raise my kids I work during the day and my hubby works overnights.
