Very interesting. Probably a lot of people's biggest question before they commit to the trip. A lot of the world could learn from what travel gives you. Especially if you ride a bike or drink coffee. Ride safe 👍

Thanks 😊 Yeah I think travel is the best investment one can make. I think most people expect they need a lot more than they actually do so it becomes a huge obstacle. But in reality you can get pretty far with limited means.

Thanks for the video, was really interesting. 400-500 is the bare minimum to travel a month in europe i think. Excluding bike maintenance etc. For the middle east, it might be sufficient including the maintenance. How will you proceed now? When will you be back on the road?

Yeah I could have spent a lot less if I really tried, but i also wanted some comforts now and then. Now I am preparing for a more local season. As soon as the snow melts I’ll head to the south of Norway and make my way north.

Hehe yep!! Exactly what I wanted 😛 I sold everything because I realized that owning a home and all the things just made me feel stressed. I was working 24/7 to pay for it, it I spent more time at work than at home. So getting rid of it just made me feel free. If it doesn’t fit on my bike I don’t need it. I feel so much better living in a tent with nothing but my bike than having a mortgage and bills to pay.

I remember you saying that you spent 50 euros pr day as an average. Which in my experience is realistic. It would also double your estimate? Anyway you did it and that is something to be respected. Hej då😊
@RidetheBean
@RidetheBean 3 ай бұрын
It really depended on where I was and what I was doing. I didn’t do a very thorough calculation of exactly how much I spent every day. But in general I’d say it was closer to 50 per day in France or Italy, and closer to half of that in the balkans and turkey. Har to say exactly. But if you really want to you can live quite cheaply.

I’m really surprised that you paid so much in France for accommodation. Were you in tourist areas in high season?
@RidetheBean
@RidetheBean 3 ай бұрын
It depended on where I was in France. The south is expensive, and countryside can be expensive because accommodation is scarce. High season is really expensive, low season is ok. One night at the backpackers in Antibes where I arrived the first time was 20€, a few months later it was 50€

@RidetheBean

The majority. The most expensive thing I got was the riding suit, helmet and gloves. The rest of the equipment was cameras and accessories for that. GoPros, mics, hard drives, memory cards etc., and replacement GoPros when they broke 😅

Jacket måtte ha en egen forsikring som var gyldig hele året på reise. GOUDA har gode forsikringer. Men koster fort om mot 30-40000 per år om du skal inkludere steder med høyere risiko.

@@Gravelishthats even considered low. An average service is easily 200-300 if its small. And tires 300-400 and thats considered cheap. So 800 every 12k seems very reasonable

Are you crazy "living" on a motorcycle, why would you do that? I am a biker and love riding, I also have a campervan, but would never dream of living in it, that is what we have houses for.
@RidetheBean
@RidetheBean 2 ай бұрын
Hehe I had a house, but felt trapped with all the bills and things I needed to do to keep it. I worked minimum 15 hour days 7 days a week for years and slept mostly at work. So I started renting it out through air Bnb and camping in the woods instead. Got up early to shower at the gym. And I realized that I can live just fine with whatever I can fit on my bike. So after I lost everything in my life I wanted freedom more than anything else. And there is no better way to be free than having all your possessions with you. You can settle anywhere for however long you want, then just hop on the bike and move when you feel like it. Now I never want to own a house ever again. I want the freedom to move around instead of being locked to a specific location. Living this way I live like a king on less than 1000$ a month. And I have amazing experiences everywhere I go. Being stuck in a house for more than a few months just makes me depressed.

I did work that much. Then I lived on my bike for two years and spent all my money. Now I have 2000$ that I will use for gas and food from may to September. Hopefully this channel will generate a few hundred extra a month so I can have some luxury now and then and stay in a hostel 😛

@@RidetheBean You are Welcome Sir. I appreciate watching Your Videos. I live in New England, Maine to be exact and our riding time is limited because winter here can be much longer than elsewhere that exsperiance snow and the extreme cold., Most Years... lol. We have been blessed this year as Winter is over here, well after the last recent snow storm. So the time to ride i usually stretch out beyond other riders even.. I ride almost to the 1st Snowfall if possible.. depending how cold it gets too.. not that I can't dress for it... its just the roads get icy, or the pavement just gets too slick due to Temps. Riding is indeed precious to me as I see it is to you and I'm guessing others that watch your channel. Its the only time I truly feel free . Free in I feel all aspects of my life . I truly feel alive ., I do feel as part of our environment as well. Its a difficult feeling to describe beyond the words ive used here because its not just a feeling or feelings., It's beyond emotions or emotional.. its like an Eagle as we watch them Flying Free just shy of Heaven... Gliding along Her Wings Spread Wide ... Truly Free. Is that not the reason the Eagle is a Significant part of Our Heritage ., Why She is on Coins, Flags and So much more. The American Bald Eagle 🦅 The Representative of America 🇺🇸 and Signifies Our Freedom 🦅 . Hope that don't sound too corny.. but its the truth.. My truth of how I feel when I ride. I'm sure you understand man. So again... Thank You. P.S. I want to start documenting my own rides as... Well even if no one watches them... Perhaps my son will pull them up here and there to watch His Dad Ride.. and have a better understanding of Why I do truly love doing it. Thank you again.
