Everytime that I see cafes at Korea I just can’t help and wonder: Why there aren’t any near where I live? Just this kind of quite vibes and minimalist 🥲🥲

seriously all the money i'm earning right now is saving up just to cafe hop when i'm back in korea! i love this vlog btw ~

I livedin Seoul for 7 years and lived 4 of those years in Hongdae. Cafes come and go, little cute boutique places in myoung dong, Itaewom, Chongro, Gangnam --u went one week and a month later it might be gone. The sad thing is that Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tom Tom and a strong presence. I used to go to mega gym in Myuong Dong late 1990s early 2000s and the first 5 floor Starbucks opened and they would when a queue for an hour to just sit inside. Every year minus last year and I’m sure this year -due to COVID- I visit Seoul and Magwon changes year to year. Cafes in Seoul r something that r trendy and don’t expect from month to month to find same thing. Like the Netflix Itaewon series, that entire area is a ghost time now and last time I went every southeast Asian tourist I met was looking y for the bar not realizing it doesn’t exist. I always suggest take as many pics of the place and recording to memory cause it wouldn’t be around much longer. Cafes are an intriguing part of Korean society since they don’t host friends at homes much. My ex partner was a Korean traditional chef and whenever we had Koreans over for our normal meals people said it was like going to an traditional cafe (by the way I collect Koreans antiques so they also helped the vibe)
