Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in the world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.
Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

When you think about what Walt's goal was, even this amount of money is nothing compared to the people he wants to surpass. Gretchen and Elliot are multi billionaires so $80 million is a drop in the bucket compared to their wealth. All the pain and suffering he caused and he barely achieved a fraction of what they did.
@billplaney2585
@billplaney2585 10 ай бұрын
It goes to show that there's no rhyme or reason behind the financial extremes of any kind of success. JK Rowling created an empire of sorts with Harry Potter - a real act of creation - and even as a billionaire having worked perhaps 15 or so years on this one goldmine of a project, her wealth is but a rounding error on some of the portfolios of the ultra-wealthy. John Updike wrote professionally for around 60 years and published more than 60 books of mostly high literary quality, and died happy with what he created, though only worth a rounding error on JK Rowling's wealth, perhaps $20 million. The wealth of these mega-billionaires these days has little to do with what they have created than with the perceptions of financial markets that they are worth that amount. They are happy to bid their wealth up because their meager holdings are on the same ride.

Ozzy Osbourne is one of the biggest artists in history, but there's still songs and albums of his that I would call underrated. I think we can get a ballpark estimate based on what is shown and making some assumptions: L: 12 stacks W: 14 stacks H: 42 stacks 1 stack= 100 bills The top layer shows a roughly 50:50 ratio of $20 strips (Violet) and $50 strips (brown) based on the US ABA standard colors. Let's assume all layers have this mix. 12 * 14 = 168 stacks per layer 168 / 2 = 84 stacks per domination. 84 * $50 * 100 = $420,000 (total value of $50 bills in 1 layer) 84 * $20 * 100 = $168,000 (total value of $20 bills in 1 layer) 1 layer = $420,000 + $168,000 = $588,000 (total value of 1 layer) 42 layers * $588,000 = $24,696,000 You can certainly spend that in 1 lifetime. Even if I'm off and we double it to $50 MM, many lottery winners have won more and blown it all.

This is my favorite show ever and I’ll probably watch it a few more times, but inconsistencies arise when you dig deep. For instance, Walt would know down to the penny exactly how much money he’d handed to Skylar to launder.

Walt providing money for his family was his justification for doing this but seeing how much he’s made right in front of him and Skyler telling him that they could not spend it all finally broke through that flimsy excuse. Walt can no longer justify what he does to his wife and he knows it. He knew it before but now he sees it and with his cancer back he knows it’s best to get out while he can…. Except he can’t.

Amateurs. A bill counter could total it in an hour or two. Buy the storage building and it never has to be moved. Keep buying storage buildings until you corner the market. Or convert it to precious metal or bit coin.

@@chasehedges6775 if you never watched it, how can you say it wasn't awesome from the get-go too? GoT was legitimately awesome until the runners started going too hard against the source material and it turned out their own ideas were just awfully bland. And honestly that's what made it so awful in the later seasons: bland and lazy writing after actually brilliant seasons. Certain twists were hinted at for years but when they were resolved in the final seasons they had no impact on the story and were brushed over. Imagine all the setup for the Hank vs Walter cat and mouse, but after Hank finds out he just goes on like nothing happens and in the semifinal episode he says "oh btw I know you're Heisenberg" out of nowhere, never mentions it again and that's it.

I mean, the weighing option could have worked provided you separated them by the kinds of denominations they were, and then weighed them separately (for example, weighing up 100 pounds of $100 bills, and so on). It would have taken a while, but I imagine it would have worked reasonably well
